Fantasy Tip: Of course, Mariota would still have to be available for the Jets to draft him, which is far from a given. Mariota could very well be a backup even in New York in his first year, too. Rookie quarterbacks are always risky to roster in fantasy football leagues, unless you'd be willing to save them in a keeper and/or dynasty league.

New York Jets WR Brandon Marshall could be in line for a breakout season in 2015, according to head coach Todd Bowles. Bowles said he thinks Marshall remains a "top-flight receiver." "He understands the game. He's a student of the game. He understands when he has small guys on him. He can get vertical when he needs to get vertical. He's a sharp route runner. He has great hands. He knows how to block. He brings a work ethic and he brings a fire to us that we need on the other side of the ball," Bowles said.
Fantasy Tip: Because of the switch from Jay Cutler to Geno Smith (and maybe Ryan Fitzpatrick) alone, Marshall's fantasy value will sleep to more of a WR2 in New York. However, if Marshall and whoever starts at QB for the Jets develop chemistry, there remains upside, and he could still be very valuable in point-per-reception formats.

New York Jets QB Geno Smith will be the starting quarterback ahead of QB Ryan Fitzpatrick entering training camp this summer, according to new head coach Todd Bowles. "You can't have equal first-team reps with a quarterback," Bowles said. "Geno will start out taking them, but that doesn't mean that Ryan can't take his spot. If Ryan's playing better and performing better…" Bowles continues to say that it's too early to judge Smith off his tape alone.
Fantasy Tip: The quarterback battle could be far from over in New York, especially if they draft a QB in the first round this year. If not, Smith and Fitzpatrick will battle it out this summer, and neither is likely worth drafting in standard fantasy football leagues.
