Fantasy Tip: Williams would join an already crowded backfield with Matt Forte, Bilal Powell and Khiry Robinson. He would likely mainly compete with Robinson for playing time, but his fantasy value would be minimal. Continue to stay away from Williams for now.

Fantasy Tip: Amaro and Thompkins are both faint blips on the fantasy radar at this point. Neither should see heavy involvement in the Jets' offense. Amaro is a backup tight end option, but Thompkins can be avoided.

Fantasy Tip: Robinson should be fine for the start of the regular season, although he'll be playing behind Matt Forte and Bilal Powell. He could vulture some touchdowns away from his counterparts, but Robinson is really only worth a late-round flier in standard leagues as long as Forte and Powell are healthy.

Fantasy Tip: He may not play much if he does play, but it will still be nice to see how Forte looks since he's been recovering from the hamstring ailment. Even with his cumbersome workloads over his career, Forte is still a low-end RB1 to high-end RB2 consideration.

Fantasy Tip: Whether this is a wise idea remains to be seen, but the Jets would certainly have no shortage of signal-callers to pick from in case of injury. Fitzpatrick would be the No. 1, with Petty and Smith battling for the No. 2 spot. The winner of that backup job might be worth watching in deeper leagues in case Fitzpatrick falters or gets hurt.

New York Jets RB Matt Forte could "get a few snaps in" during next week's preseason game against the New York Giants if head coach Todd Bowles gets his wish, according to SNY reporter Ralph Vacchiano.
Fantasy Tip: Forte has reportedly impressed in practices recently after missing a significant portion of the early part of training camp. The longtime Chicago Bear isn't a great bet to return to RB1 status in New York since he will be sharing backfield touches with Bilal Powell and, to a lesser extent, Khiry Robinson, but he should still be a factor as a midrange RB2 in PPR formats.

Fantasy Tip: Enunwa will need to pass the concussion tests before he can play again, so owners should monitor the situation. He has a chance to be the No. 3 receiver for the Jets this season but likely can be avoided in fantasy drafts.

Updating a previous report, New York Jets LB Erin Henderson (shoulder) sustained a non-serious stinger in his left shoulder during the second quarter of the preseason game against the New York Jets Friday, Aug. 19, according to head coach Todd Bowles. It is uncertain how much practice time Henderson will miss.

Updating a previous report, New York Jets WR Quincy Enunwa (concussion) suffered a concussion during the first quarter of the preseason game versus the Washington Redskins Friday, Aug. 19. Enunwa sustained the injury when he was accidentally kneed in the head by Washington Redskins WR Jamison Crowder on punt coverage.
Fantasy Tip: Although Enunwa is expected to serve as the Jets' No. 3 receiver, he should not be viewed as anything more than a WR5 in deeper fantasy leagues, with Brandon Marshall and Eric Decker slated to see the vast majority of the targets this season.
