Fantasy Tip: Patton was considered by many to be a sleeper last year in San Francisco. He may very well carry that status over to the Jets. With Brandon Marshall gone, Patton will compete for the No. 3 receiver job behind Eric Decker and Quincy Enunwa. Being the No. 3 receiver with subpar quarterback play isn't a recipe for success, though. Patton is only a late-round consideration.

New York Jets DE Muhammad Wilkerson took to social media to dispute concerns he is out of shape. While in attendance Temple's pro day, Wilkerson was spotted by scouts who labeled him "sloppy" and "terribly out of shape." Wilkerson posted a short video of himself running on a treadmill, responding with, "Ha-ha. Keep sleeping on me. I'm telling you."

The New York Jets are "very intrigued" by North Carolina QB Mitchell Trubisky, according to Rich Cimini of ESPN.com, though it would be considered a "bold move" for the club to select him with their first-round selection at No. 6 overall in the NFL Draft.

Fantasy Tip: Cutler has not received a lot of interest this offseason and may need to wait until training camp to sign with a team. Owners in fantasy leagues can consider Cuter a No. 2 fantasy quarterback if he is a starter for a team next season.

Updating a previous report, New York Jets QB Josh McCown agreed to a one-year deal with the Jets worth $6 million. The deal also includes $2 million in incentives based on playing time and another $5 million in team-based incentives.

Fantasy Tip: McCown likely becomes the leading candidate to be the starting quarterback for the Jets in 2017. He has had some success over the last few years but was limited to six games played in 2016 and finished with 1,100 yards, six touchdowns and six interceptions. McCown will have a solid receiving corps to work with in New York but probably can be avoided in fantasy leagues.

Free-agent QB Josh McCown (Browns) finished his visit with the New York Jets Sunday, March 19, but did not reach an agreement on a contract. The two sides will continue to talk but no deal is imminent.
Fantasy Tip: McCown spent the weekend with the Jets and appears to have a decent chance to sign with New York if the two sides can work out a deal. McCown probably would be the starting quarterback if he signs with the Jets but would only be a No. 2 fantasy quarterback.

New York Jets WR Eric Decker (hip, shoulder) is expected to get a chance to complete his rehab from hip and shoulder surgeries before the Jets decide whether to keep or release him, according to ESPN's Rich Cimini.
Fantasy Tip: With all the lives they've made this offseason, the Jets are not hurting for salary cap room. New York may be doing himself a favor by keeping Decker, if only to make it a bit easier for whatever quarterback it decides to settle on in 2017. Given the current state of the Jets, Decker will be hard-pressed to maintain WR3 value this season.

Fantasy Tip: Patton recorded a career-high 408 yards and zero touchdowns in 2016 and has not received a lot of interest in free agency. He probably would be the No. 4 or No. 5 receiver if he signs with the Jets and does not have much fantasy value.

Fantasy Tip: Kaepernick probably will not be able to find a starting job this offseason but should be able be a backup for a team in 2017. Owners in fantasy leagues can avoid him if he is not a starting quarterback.
