Giants | Evan Engram listed as limited

Wed, 20 Sep 2017 15:42:28 -0700

New York Giants TE Evan Engram (concussion) was limited during practice Wednesday, Sept. 20.

Fantasy Tip: Engram will have to pass his concussion tests before he is cleared to play but appears to be on track to play. He has been targeted 12 times over the first two games and has posted eight receptions, 93 yards and one touchdown during that span. Engram probably should be considered a No. 2 tight end at this point but could a flex option in some keeper leagues.

Giants | Odell Beckham limited Wednesday

Wed, 20 Sep 2017 15:24:12 -0700

New York Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr. (ankle) was limited during practice Wednesday, Sept. 20.

Fantasy Tip: Beckham was able to play in Week 2 despite the injury but was limited to only 36 yards on four catches. He probably will be active again this week and will be facing a banged up Philadelphia Eagles secondary. Fantasy owners should have him in their lineup, but he probably will not a No. 1 receiver for owners.

Giants | NYG could face compromised secondary

Wed, 20 Sep 2017 11:27:43 -0700

New York Giants WRs Odell Beckham Jr., Brandon Marshall and Sterling Shepard could face a shorthanded Philadelphia Eagles defensive backfield in Week 3, as S Rodney McLeod (hamstring) and CB Jaylen Watkins (hamstring) are nursing hamstring injuries. The Eagles also lost CB Ronald Darby for four-to-six weeks with an ankle injury in Week 1.

Fantasy Tip: While the likely absences of Darby, McLeod and Watkins should be a lift to the Giants' passing game, it remains to be seen whether or not the Giants' offensive line will give the receivers anytime to get open. It is also worth mentioning Philadelphia has one of the most talented and deepest defensive lines in the league. Given how poorly New York has performed offensively thus far, the odds seem long any receiver outside of Beckham is worth a start in fantasy this week or for the foreseeable future.

Giants | Ereck Flowers has Giants' support

Tue, 19 Sep 2017 11:21:24 -0700

New York Giants OT Ereck Flowers is still backed by his teammates after allowing three sacks in a loss to the Detroit Lions. Head coach Ben McAdoo didn't say he was thinking about benching Flowers, just giving him more help.

Giants | Odell Beckham plays 61 percent of snaps

Tue, 19 Sep 2017 06:22:57 -0700

New York Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr. (ankle) played 34 of 56 (61 percent) offensive snaps in Week 2.

Fantasy Tip: He had four catches for 36 yards, but he wasn't used as a decoy. The offense just stunk it up. He'll have a better outlook in Week 3 against the Philadelphia Eagles if he recovers well.

Giants | Brandon Marshall nearly invisible again

Mon, 18 Sep 2017 21:17:28 -0700

New York Giants WR Brandon Marshall posted just one grab for 17 yards in Week 2 against the Detroit Lions on Monday, Sept. 18.

Fantasy Tip: Marshall was targeted five times, but the thing Giants fans and fantasy owners will remember is a key drop that was followed by a punt return for score by the Lions. Marshall has looked lost in his first two games with the Giants, and he has a total of two receptions. If not for his past production, fantasy owners would be dropping him to the waiver wire already. They might still be doing that.

Giants | Sterling Shepard posts two receptions

Mon, 18 Sep 2017 21:16:57 -0700

New York Giants WR Sterling Shepard managed just two catches for 23 yards on four targets in Week 2 against the Detroit Lions on Monday, Sept. 18.

Fantasy Tip: Shepard and Eli Manning nearly connected on a touchdown in the corner of the end zone in the second half, but the pass was batted away. That was the only thing his fantasy owners could have been remotely excited about, as the Giants offense was just brutal on Monday. Shepard will look for bigger things in Week 3 in Philadelphia, but he is a borderline WR4/5 in most fantasy leagues right now.

Giants | Odell Beckham mostly ineffective

Mon, 18 Sep 2017 21:16:27 -0700

New York Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr. posted four catches for 36 yards on five targets in the Week 2 game against the Detroit Lions on Monday, Sept. 18.

Fantasy Tip: Beckham, who was a question mark leading up to the game due to an ankle injury, didn't really do much because his quarterback didn't have a lot of time to get the ball down the field. Beckham also had one drop in the game. He'll look for better results in Week 3 in Philadelphia.

Giants | Evan Engram stands out on Monday

Mon, 18 Sep 2017 21:15:55 -0700

New York Giants rookie TE Evan Engram hauled in four receptions for 49 yards and a touchdown on a team-high seven targets in Week 2 against the Detroit Lions on Monday, Sept. 18.

Fantasy Tip: Engram looked like the only effective option in the pass game on Monday, including Odell Beckham Jr. The rookie has emerged as a decent streaming option heading into Week 3 in Philadelphia.

Giants | Paul Perkins bottled up on MNF

Mon, 18 Sep 2017 21:15:28 -0700

New York Giants rookie RB Paul Perkins rushed seven times for 10 yards in Week 2 against the Detroit Lions on Monday, Sept. 18, while added two catches for 12 yards.

Fantasy Tip: Perkins really struggled in the run game, and the offensive line certainly wasn't blowing open holes for Perkins or the rest of the tailbacks to run through. Unless the O-line for the Giants improves dramatically it will really hold down the fantasy value of Perkins going forward. The Giants meet the Eagles on the road in Week 3.

Giants | Shane Vereen leads run game

Mon, 18 Sep 2017 21:14:58 -0700

New York Giants RB Shane Vereen rushed six times for a team-high 28 yards in Week 2 against the Detroit Lions on Monday, Sept. 18, and he added three receptions for 27 yards.

Fantasy Tip: Vereen leading the team in rushing tells you a little something about how the night went for the G-Men. Vereen isn't known for his rushing, but for his hands out of the backfield. He is a tremendous PPR option in most fantasy leagues, but not terribly valuable in some standard formats. The Giants travel to Philadelphia in Week 3.
