Fantasy Tip: Cruz has missed most of the last two years with a torn patellar tendon and a torn calf muscle he injured in his comeback attempt. The Giants aren't counting on him, and it wouldn't be wise to do so in fantasy other than a lottery-ticket WR5.

Fantasy Tip: Shepard had already caught Manning's eye, and the more Shepard impresses his quarterback the more opportunities he could receive during the season. Victor Cruz's status is still a question mark since he hasn't played since 2014, which could open the door for Shepard to take the No. 2 wide receiver position. Don't overdo it on the hype, though. Shepard should be viewed as no more than a WR4 for now.

Fantasy Tip: Cruz's major knee injury is concerning. He's played in only six games in the last two years and will probably never be the same receiver he once was. The Giants drafted Sterling Shepard to make an immediate impact in the passing game because of the uncertainty surrounding Cruz. Consider Cruz a very risky fantasy asset moving forward as a late-round flier.

New York Giants TE Will Tye's pass-catching potential and athleticism make him the favorite to start at tight end in 2016 for the Giants, in the opinion of Jordan Raanan of NJ.com. TEs Larry Donnell, Matt LaCosse and Jerell Adams will also be competing.
Fantasy Tip: Larry Donnell's status remains shaky with the neck injury he suffered last year. Tye seems to be next in line if the Giants aren't convinced that Donnell is ready to start, but neither Donnell nor Tye are starting tight end materialy anyway.

New York Giants DTs Damon Harrison and Johnathan Hankins will team up on early downs at defensive tackle. The Giants hope Harrison can help improve their third-down defense by lengthening the distance their opponents need to go on first and second downs, according to Dan Graziano of ESPNNewYork.com.

New York Giants DE Olivier Vernon is expected to play at right defensive end, with DE Jason Pierre-Paul expected to primarily play at left defensive end, according to ESPNNewYork.com's Dan Graziano. Pierre-Paul could also move inside to defensive tackle on passing downs.

New York Giants WR Victor Cruz (knee, calf) has received limited work during offseason workouts but hopes to be a full participant once training camp begins. Cruz said he believes he will be ready for the start of the 2016 season.
Fantasy Tip: Cruz has played only six games in the last two seasons but would have a solid role in the passing game if he is healthy. He will be a risky option because of his injury history but could still be a late-round option in some deeper leagues.

New York Giants OG John Jerry and Marshall Newhouse are currently slated to start at right guard and right tackle, respectively. The Giants are content with keeping their offensive line as is, but they may be open to signing someone else and/or giving someone else a chance to win one of those jobs in training camp.

New York Giants rookie RB Paul Perkins isn't expected to have much of an impact in his rookie season, in the opinion of Ralph Vacchiano of the New York Daily News. Vacchiano anticipates RB Andre Williams to have the first shot at being the short-yardage running back and Jennings' backup, with RB Shane Vereen reprising his pass-catching and third-down role.
Fantasy Tip: Rashad Jennings will start, but the hype train on Perkins may need to hit the brakes a little bit before the season starts. Perkins will need to work his way up to take playing time away from Jennings, Williams and Vereen, so don't draft him as more than a speculative RB5 in traditional leagues.

New York Giants RB Rashad Jennings is expected to be the workhorse running back and receive the majority of carries in 2016, according to Ralph Vacchiano of the New York Daily News. Jennings saw 48.3% of the Giants' carries last season, but Vacchiano expects that to increase this season.
Fantasy Tip: Jennings actually ran for a career-high 863 yards on a career-high 195 carries last season, although the four total touchdowns left something to be desired. He even notched a career-high 296 receiving yards. If he remains healthy and maintains his status as New York's lead running back, he's worth drafting as a high-end RB3.
