Saints | Willie Snead questionable

Fri, 30 Sep 2016 13:11:46 -0700

New Orleans Saints WR Willie Snead (toe) was limited during practice Friday, Sept. 30, and is listed as questionable for Week 4.

Fantasy Tip: Owners will need to check the inactive list to see if Snead will be able to play. He should be a solid No. 2 or No. 3 receiver for fantasy owners if he plays, but owners will need other options ready in case he is ruled out.

Saints | Willie Snead still limited

Thu, 29 Sep 2016 14:49:48 -0700

New Orleans Saints WR Willie Snead (toe) was limited in practice again Thursday, Sept. 29.

Fantasy Tip: Snead has had plenty of time to rest after missing Week 3, so keep an eye on if he's upgraded or not in the next few days. If he does play, he's an automatic start in the Saints' pass-happy offense. That being said, Jason Verrett and Casey Hayward are two of the best cornerbacks in the NFL, and Snead may be limited, so expectations should be mildly tempered.

Saints | Willie Snead limited Wednesday

Wed, 28 Sep 2016 15:33:15 -0700

New Orleans Saints WR Willie Snead (toe) was limited during practice Wednesday, Sept. 28.

Fantasy Tip: Snead was not able to play in the last game because of the injury, so owners will need to keep an eye on the situation. Snead is a main part of the passing game when he is healthy and can be a starting option for owners if he is active for the game.

Saints | Brandin Cooks mostly contained

Mon, 26 Sep 2016 21:48:45 -0700

New Orleans Saints WR Brandin Cooks was targeted eight times in the Week 3 game against the Atlanta Falcons Monday, Sept. 26, but he posted just two receptions for 13 yards. He also carried once for six yards.

Fantasy Tip: It was a disappointing fantasy performance for Cooks considering there were a total of 77 points scored in the game. Cooks remains a must-start in all fantasy leagues until this kind of performance becomes a regularity. It won't.

Saints | Michael Thomas finds end zone

Mon, 26 Sep 2016 21:48:17 -0700

New Orleans Saints rookie WR Michael Thomas posted seven receptions for 71 yards and a touchdown in the Week 3 game against the Atlanta Falcons Monday, Sept. 26. He was targeted 11 times, tied for the most in the game.

Fantasy Tip: Thomas certainly had the eye of Drew Brees, as the Falcons did a good job shutting down Brandin Cooks and forcing someone else to beat them. Thomas entered the season with a lot of hype, but this was easily his best game of the season. He has WR3 ability in most fantasy formats.

Saints | Coby Fleener finally breaks out

Mon, 26 Sep 2016 21:47:13 -0700

New Orleans Saints TE Coby Fleener posted seven receptions for 109 yards and a touchdown in the Week 3 game against the Atlanta Falcons Monday, Sept. 26. He was targeted 11 times, tied for most in the game.

Fantasy Tip: Fleener went to New Orleans with high expectations from fantasy owners, but he fell on his face in the first two games. For those who gave up on him, there will be a mass waiver wire add in the upcoming week after this performance.

Saints | Drew Brees has big night in loss

Mon, 26 Sep 2016 21:46:37 -0700

New Orleans Saints QB Drew Brees completed 36 of his 54 pass attempts for 376 yards, three touchdowns and one interception in the Week 3 game against the Atlanta Falcons Monday, Sept. 26. Since 2012 Brees has 19 losses in game with 300 or more yards, most in the NFL. His interception snapped a streak of 305 passes without an INT, the fourth-longest streak in NFL history without a pick.

Fantasy Tip: The Saints are 0-3, but Brees is still putting up big numbers and is doing his part. He remains a top-notch fantasy option across the board in all formats heading into Week 4.

Saints | Mark Ingram totals 107 yards, TD

Mon, 26 Sep 2016 21:46:02 -0700

New Orleans Saints RB Mark Ingram carried 15 times for 77 yards in the Week 3 game against the Atlanta Falcons Monday, Sept. 26. He also hauled in four receptions for 30 yards and a touchdown on six targets.

Fantasy Tip: Ingram's touchdown was his first in three games, but he has yet to post a rushing score. His 77-yard rushing total was the highest of the season, but he is still sitting on just 165 yards through three games. He needs to do better.

Saints | Willie Snead inactive

Mon, 26 Sep 2016 16:18:48 -0700

New Orleans Saints WR Willie Snead (toe) has been declared inactive for the team's Week 3 game.

Fantasy Tip: Michael Thomas should receive more playing time with Snead out. Coby Fleener likely will also see more targets in the passing game. Thomas should be considered a No. 3 receiver or a flex option in deeper leagues, while Fleener can be a starting tight end for fantasy owners.
