Saints | Coby Fleener becoming a non-factor

Tue, 17 Oct 2017 11:33:18 -0700

New Orleans Saints TE Coby Fleener has caught just three passes for 42 yards in his last three games. Furthermore, he was targeted only once in the Saints' 52-38 win over the Detroit Lions in Week 6.

Fantasy Tip: Fleener is clearly not an integral part of New Orleans' game plan on a week-to-week basis. He scored a touchdown in each of his first two games but has been invisible since then. It might be hard to drop him since he's technically the starting tight end in one of the NFL's best offenses, but you certainly can't start him.

Saints | Michael Thomas held in check

Sun, 15 Oct 2017 18:04:36 -0700

New Orleans Saints WR Michael Thomas posted three catches for 11 yards on six targets in the Week 6 game against the Detroit Lions.

Fantasy Tip: Thomas really laid an egg, which is disappointing considering the score was 52-38. If someone came home and checked the score, they probably thought Thomas was in beast mode, but he was mostly invisible. He'll look to rebound in Week 7 in Green Bay. Despite the egg-laying he remains a must-start fantasy option in most formats.

Saints | Willie Snead doesn't do much

Sun, 15 Oct 2017 18:04:02 -0700

New Orleans Saints WR Willie Snead posted one catch for 11 yards on three targets in Week 6 game against the Detroit Lions.

Fantasy Tip: Snead finally made his return after a three-game suspension and then a hamstring injury. It wasn't an impressive start. He'll look for better results in Week 7 in Green Bay, but for now he is only worth keeping on your roster for depth. Wait for him to knock off the rust in another game or two before relying on him as a starter.

Saints | Michael Hoomanwanui scores touchdown

Sun, 15 Oct 2017 18:03:26 -0700

New Orleans Saints TE Michael Hoomanawanui posted two grabs for 27 yards and a touchdown on three targets in the Week 6 game against the Detroit Lions.

Fantasy Tip: Despite Hoomanawanui finding the end zone he is nothing more than a desperation fantasy option when your primary option has a bye week. The Saints travel to meet the Packers in Week 7.

Saints | Ted Ginn totals 69 yards, TD

Sun, 15 Oct 2017 18:02:53 -0700

New Orleans Saints WR Ted Ginn Jr. hauled in four receptions for a team-high 66 yards and a touchdown in Week 6 against the Detroit Lions and he added a three-yard rush.

Fantasy Tip: Ginn's yardage total was his best of the season, and he has now found the end zone in two of the past three games. Despite the decent production, he remains nothing more than a WR4 or flex play in fantasy leagues of 12 or more teams heading into Week 7 in Green Bay.

Saints | Alvin Kamara post 87 total yards

Sun, 15 Oct 2017 18:02:19 -0700

New Orleans Saints RB Alvin Kamara rushed 10 times for 75 yards in Week 6 against the Detroit Lions and he added four grabs for 12 yards on four targets.

Fantasy Tip: Kamara looked energized in the win, as he now doesn't have a future Hall of Famer in Adrian Peterson breathing down his neck. He is a solid RB3 or flex play, especially in PPR formats, and the clear-cut handcuff to Mark Ingram going forward.

Saints | Mark Ingram finishes with big game

Sun, 15 Oct 2017 18:01:49 -0700

New Orleans Saints RB Mark Ingram rushed 25 times for 114 yards and two touchdowns in the Week 6 game against the Detroit Lions and he added five receptions for 36 yards on five targets.

Fantasy Tip: It's like a cloud was removed from Ingram's head when Adrian Peterson was shipped to Arizona. While Peterson wasn't cutting into Ingram's time, perhaps he was not performing or was uncomfortable looking over his shoulder at the future Hall of Famer. It was smooth sailing in Week 6, and fantasy owners hope that continues in Week 7 in Green Bay and beyond.

Saints | Drew Brees tosses two touchdowns

Sun, 15 Oct 2017 17:57:15 -0700

New Orleans Saints QB Drew Brees completed 21 of his 31 pass attempts for 186 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions in the Week 7 game against the Detroit Lions.

Fantasy Tip: It wasn't a great game for Brees, especially with a 52-38 score on the board, but there were three defensive touchdowns from the Saints to prop up their score. Mark Ingram rushed for two scores, so that's why Brees only did what he did. He'll look for better results in Week 7 in Green Bay, but he will be battling Brett Hundley and not Aaron Rodgers. The Saints could use a run-heavy offense if they grab a lead against the inexperienced quarterback.

Sun, 15 Oct 2017 16:56:44 -0700

New Orleans Saints FS Kenny Vaccaro pounced on a fumble in the end zone for a touchdown to open the scoring in Week 6 against the Detroit Lions. He also factored in on four total tackles, including one for loss, while recording three passes defensed.
