Sun, 15 Jan 2017 13:19:08 -0800

Fantasy Tip: Owners can monitor Mitchell's practice participation during the week to see if he is on track to play in the playoff game. He probably would see limited targets if he plays and can be avoided in all leagues.

Fantasy Tip: Bennett has been held to 35 yards or less in each of his last four games but entered the playoffs with three touchdowns in his last four regular season games. He has been receiving a consistent number of targets during games but is only a low-end No. 1 tight end at this point.

Patriots | Martellus Bennett admits to pressing

Sat, 14 Jan 2017 21:36:06 -0800

New England Patriots TE Martellus Bennett had one catch for four yards on four targets in a 34-16 win over the Houston Texans Saturday, Jan. 14, and he said after the game that he was pressing too hard.

Patriots | Quiet night for LeGarrette Blount

Sat, 14 Jan 2017 21:08:51 -0800

New England Patriots RB LeGarrette Blount had eight carries for 31 yards in a 34-16 win over the Houston Texans Saturday, Jan. 14.

Fantasy Tip: New England is notorious for favoring a certain back based on the matchup, and Blount was the odd man out tonight. He still has plenty of upside because of his touchdown potential, but fantasy owners have to accept occasional duds.

New England Patriots WR Julian Edelman finished with eight catches on 13 targets for 137 yards in a 34-16 win over the Houston Texans Saturday, Jan. 14.

Fantasy Tip: Edelman has now been targeted at least 11 times in seven of his last eight games, and he has topped 70 yards in every game during that span. He has one of the safest floors of any receiver.

Patriots | Tom Brady sloppy in win

Sat, 14 Jan 2017 20:55:45 -0800

New England Patriots QB Tom Brady completed 18 of his 38 passes for 287 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions in a 34-16 win over the Houston Texans Saturday, Jan. 14.

Fantasy Tip: Brady threw just two interceptions in the regular season, but facing the tough Houston defense, he doubled his total. Even in a poor performance by his standards, he finished with a decent line, showcasing his high floor.

Fantasy Tip: Lewis didn't have a touchdown during the regular season, but now that he is healthy, his versatility and upside are on full display.

New England Patriots WR Michael Floyd likely will serve as the No. 4 receiver for the Patriots if WR Malcolm Mitchell (knee) is not able to play in the Divisional round playoff game.

Fantasy Tip: Floyd has made a solid contribution since joining the Patriots but probably would not receive a lot of targets if he plays against the Houston Texans. Owners probably can find better options and can avoid Floyd.
