Fantasy Tip: Of course, Brady didn't play the whole game, but he looked rusty when he was in. He'll have plenty of time to improve and shake off the rust while serving his four-game suspension. Continue to draft him as a QB2.

Updating a previous report, New England Patriots FB James Develin (leg) suffered a broken tibia during the third preseason game Friday, Aug. 28, according to a source. It is not known if Develin will miss the entire 2015 season.

Fantasy Tip: It is not known if Edelman will be ready for the start of the regular season, so owners should monitor his recovery over the next few weeks. Edelman should see plenty of targets if he is healthy this season and could be a middle-round option in most leagues.

Fantasy Tip: The Patriots want their best receiver healthy when the regular season starts. Edelman did practice earlier this week for the first time in a while, so he's close to being ready for game action. He's in WR2 territory in PPR leagues when healthy.

New England Patriots WR Julian Edelman (ankle) hasn't taken part in team drills since suffering an ankle injury Aug. 2, but he feels that he is close to returning. However, he wouldn't say that he'll be ready to play in Week 1 against the Pittsburgh Steelers in 16 days. "Ask Bill (Belichick)," Edelman said. "We're taking it day by day. I think I'm 10 seconds better than the last 10 seconds."
Fantasy Tip: The Pats are typically hush hush with their injuries, even during the preseason and training camp. Edelman appears to be day-to-day, and we'd be pretty shocked if he wasn't available for Week 1 in three weeks. Edelman is much more valuable in point-per-reception leagues, and he's typically drafted as a WR2.

Updating previous reports, New England Patriots WR Reggie Wayne's one-year deal is worth a maximum $2.8 million. He received a $450,000 signing bonus and will have a $1.1 million base salary. He will earn $46,875 per game he's on the 46-man active roster and will earn $250,000 for 55 catches and $500,000 for 65 catches.
Fantasy Tip: Wayne is worth the WR5 flyer if he makes the team.

Fantasy Tip: This means that Edelman could finally play in the Patriots' third preseason game Friday, Aug. 28, against the Carolina Panthers. He will at least be ready to play in their regular season opener. Edelman is still in WR2 territory in PPR leagues.

Fantasy Tip: LaFell was placed on the Physically Unable to Perform list in late July, but he's able to return at any time, unless the injury lingers, of course. LaFell still has three weeks to fully recover, but he needs to practice first. View him as a low-end WR2 to high-end WR3.

Fantasy Tip: Wayne will have to make the team, but he's an excellent WR5 flyer in this offense.
