It was something bigger than that. You guys watch the games. I was used totally differently this year than I was last year before I broke my arm. Even before I came back, I was told that I was going to be used differently," Thomas said. He indicated that he does not want to return to the team next season. According to the Boston Herald, team doctor Thomas Gill performed the surgery. The Boston Globe quoted a person with knowledge of the surgery as saying that Welker was "perfectly OK" following the surgery.
