Patriots | Long-term deal coming for Darrelle Revis?

Mon, 26 Jan 2015 16:55:43 -0800

New England Patriots CB Darrelle Revis is being paid $12 million this year, but the Patriots will reportedly try to sign him to a long-term extension this offseason. New England also hasn't ruled out picking up Revis' $20 million option for the 2015 season. If the team doesn't work out a deal with him, they have until late March to release him.

Patriots | Tom Brady clutch late in postseason

Mon, 26 Jan 2015 13:36:32 -0800

New England Patriots QB Tom Brady has led eight playoff game-winning drives in the fourth quarter or overtime in his career, more than any other player.

Fantasy Tip: Brady ($7,777, 15.55%) has seen his fair share of postseason success, but he's still a risky option going up against what was arguably the best pass defense in the NFL this season in the Seattle Seahawks. Russell Wilson might be a better option on FantasyScore at $4,444 (8.89% of cap).

Patriots | Tom Brady improved out of pocket

Sat, 24 Jan 2015 19:48:20 -0800

New England Patriots QB Tom Brady completed 12 of his 24 pass attempts on scramble plays outside of the pocket this year for 198 yards and two scores. Last year, he was 0-of-4 on similar plays.

Fantasy Tip: Brady's success on scrambling plays could come in handy in the Super Bowl against the Seahawks' tough defense. Fantasy owners should feel comfortable starting him over Russell Wilson ($4,444, 8.89% of cap) at FantasyScore.

Patriots | Brandon LaFell listed as questionable

Fri, 23 Jan 2015 14:57:25 -0800

New England Patriots WR Brandon LaFell (shoulder, toe) was limited in practice for the third straight day Friday, Jan. 23, and is questionable for the Super Bowl against the Seattle Seahawks.

Fantasy Tip: LaFell ($4,444, 8.89% of cap) should be fine to play in the big game after another week of practice. Seattle poses a stiff test for LaFell and his deep threat, but a cheap price at FantasyScore next weekend makes the decision to start him not as scary.

Patriots | Tom Brady probable for Super Bowl

Fri, 23 Jan 2015 14:54:51 -0800

New England Patriots QB Tom Brady (ankle) practiced in full for the third straight day Friday, Jan. 23, and is probable for the Super Bowl against the Seattle Seahawks.

Fantasy Tip: Brady ($7,777, 15.55% of cap) is facing a tough Seahawks defense in the Super Bowl. However, after seeing what Aaron Rodgers was able to do against them last weekend on a hobbled leg, it's safe to say that Brady will remain a fine choice as your FantasyScore QB over Russell Wilson.

New England Patriots LB Jerod Mayo (knee) said he is on schedule in his rehab from a torn patella tendon. Mayo did not comment on if he will be ready for the start of the offseason schedule. "I think I'm right on schedule," Mayo said. "I'm doing everything. The training staff with the Patriots, they're a great staff, and I'm in there every day. They tell me I'm doing well. They're telling me I'm on time."

Patriots | Brandon LaFell limited Thursday

Thu, 22 Jan 2015 16:54:58 -0800

New England Patriots WR Brandon LaFell (shoulder, toe) was limited in practice Thursday, Jan. 22.

Fantasy Tip: There aren't a lot of options at any position with just two teams playing, but LaFell faces a tough test in the Seattle Seahawks and will cost $4,444 (8.89% of cap) on FantasyScore.

Patriots | Tom Brady a full participant

Thu, 22 Jan 2015 16:52:48 -0800

New England Patriots QB Tom Brady (ankle) participated fully in practice Thursday, Jan. 22.

Fantasy Tip: Brady ($7,777, 15.55%) has been solid all season, but the Seahawks are a different animal when it comes to defending the pass. The Patriots could again rely heavily on LeGarrette Blount and the running game, making Brady a risky option at a high price on FantasyScore.

Patriots | Seattle to be physical with Gronk?

Thu, 22 Jan 2015 14:39:56 -0800

New England Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski is often a tough matchup for opposing defenses, but Seattle Seahawks CB Jeremy Lane said he doesn't think Gronkowski is "that good." "He's OK. He does have a big body. But from what I've seen on tape, he doesn't like you putting your hands on him. So if we put our hands on him and shake him up a little bit, he won't catch that many balls," Lane said. Gronkowski caught 82 passes for 1,124 yards and 12 touchdowns this season. Lane could be lined up often against Gronkowski in the slot in the Super Bowl.

Fantasy Tip: Gronkowski ($7,777, 15.55% of cap) will cost you at FantasyScore this weekend, but it's either him or Luke Willson from the Seahawks, basically. You can save money by avoiding Gronk, but it's probably not the smart move.

Patriots | Tom Brady could come under fire

Thu, 22 Jan 2015 07:05:54 -0800

New England Patriots QB Tom Brady is now scheduled to speak to the media Thursday, Jan. 22, and he could come under fire due to the report of deflated footballs in the AFC Championship game. Head coach Bill Belichick denied any involvement in the issue, and Brady will likely have to answer questions on the situation.

Fantasy Tip: Looking ahead, Brady ($7,777; 15.5% of your cap) has a stiffer matchup than Russell Wilson ($4,444; 8.8%) for the Super Bowl on FantasyScore. However, Richard Sherman (elbow) and Earl Thomas' (shoulder) health could swing the matchup pendulum back into Brady's favor.
