Patriots | Tom Brady getting stitches removed

Mon, 22 Jan 2018 23:02:14 -0800

New England Patriots QB Tom Brady (hand) mentioned he was getting the 12 stitches on his hand removed in the coming days. "And at that point, again, because I was fortunate not to tear any ligaments or anything like that - there was no broken bones - that was obviously the best news I could ever hear based on what you thought it could be," he said. "It ended up being a lot of good luck after, I'd say, a pretty unlucky injury. It turned out to be a lot good luck it wasn't more serious than it was."

Fantasy Tip: While it certainly wasn't easy, Brady was able to once again lead yet another fourth-quarter comeback in Sunday's AFC title game victory over the Jaguars in totaling 290 yards on almost 70-percent passing and tossing a pair of touchdowns compared to zero turnovers. The 40-year-old figures to be even more dangerous with the stitches removed, making it a tougher proposition for the Eagles to contain him in Super Bowl 52.

Fantasy Tip: Gronk was clocked on a helmet-to-helmet hit in the first half of the AFC Championship Game and unable to return. He has two weeks to shake the cobwebs and get himself ready for the big game.

Sun, 21 Jan 2018 17:25:34 -0800

New England Patriots WR Chris Hogan managed two grabs for 20 yards on four targets in the AFC Championship Game against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday, Jan. 21.

Fantasy Tip: Hogan missed a chunk of time down the stretch due to a shoulder injury and he was clearly behind both Brandin Cooks and Danny Amendola in the pecking order for receptions. He'll have two weeks to rest his bumps and bruises before the Super Bowl in Minneapolis.

Fantasy Tip: One of Amendola's touchdowns came on a nice toe-tap grab in the back of the end zone. He and Brandin Cooks really picked up the slack once Rob Gronkowski went down with a head injury in the first half. He'll be a big target in the Super Bowl in Minneapolis in two weeks.
