Patriots | Rodney Harrison critical of Rob Gronkowski

Thu, 09 Feb 2012 06:01:47 -0800

Former NFL S and current NBC analyst Rodney Harrison said New England Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski "disrespected himself" by dancing and taking off his shirt at the team's postgame party following the Super Bowl XLVI loss to the New York Giants. "I guarantee you this, if Willie McGinest, Tedy Bruschi, Larry Izzo, Richard Seymour or myself had been at that party, (Gronkowski) probably would have got his head rung," said Harrison, who admitted he has not seen the video or photos of Gronkowski dancing at the party. "There's no reason for that to happen ... It's just immaturity. It's not right. He made a mistake and I'm sure he feels absolutely stupid about it at this point. There's a time and place for everything."

Patriots | Rodney Harrison defends Tom Brady

Wed, 08 Feb 2012 06:48:06 -0800

Former New England Patriots SS Rodney Harrison, now an analyst for NBC, doesn't believe the heat QB Tom Brady is taking in New England and elsewhere following Super Bowl XLVI is justified. "I don't think it's fair," Harrison said. "I think it ultimately comes down to 'team.' A lot of times, quarterbacks, as well as coaches, they get too much credit sometimes. But I don't think Tom should take the heat. He had opportunities to make some plays, and he did. Some guys dropped some balls, that's all part of football. They had opportunities. But I think it's just the media's way of saying, 'Finally, we get a chance to say something negative about him. Finally, we get a chance to torch him.'"

"We at Pawngo thought Boston fans deserved a little something in return for their heartbreaking loss in the form of a great candy!" Pawngo CEO Todd Hillis said. Patriots | Future of Wes Welker a top priority

Tue, 07 Feb 2012 09:08:45 -0800

A decision on the future of New England Patriots impending free-agent WR Wes Welker will be the biggest offseason issue facing the team. Owner Robert Kraft has publicly stated he wants Welker to remain a Patriot. When it comes to negotiations, the Patriots have the upper hand on Welker because they can use the franchise tag on him. The assumption is they would apply the tag, which would lock Welker up for next year at $9.4 million. However, the team could potentially hold back on the tag and see what Welker commands on the open market. New England may be willing to gamble he'd get less on a long-term deal. Then, they'd use that to work out something at a much friendlier cost than the tag rate.

While making her way toward the elevator following the game, New York Giants fans were harassing Bundchen, yelling, "Eli rules, Eli owns your husband." She replied, "You (need) to catch the ball when you're supposed to catch the ball. My husband cannot (expletive) throw the ball and catch the ball at the same time.
