Minnesota Vikings QB Teddy Bridgewater was on the field but did not attempt any throws at practice on Saturday, Aug. 20. Head coach Mike Zimmer told reporters he had "no concern" about his signal-caller's health.
Fantasy Tip: Zimmer also told reporters Bridgewater "could have played Thursday, but I decided not to play him" in reference to the fact his starting quarterback sat out the team's road exhibition win against the Seattle Seahawks. For now, owners should take Zimmer at his word and consider this a minor issue while also remembering Shaun Hill would be the starter if the situation gets worse. Bridgewater is a mostly unexciting QB2 at the moment in most leagues.

Minnesota Vikings SSs Andrew Sendejo and Michael Griffin are competing for the starting strong safety job but the battle is unlikely to be resolved before the final game of the preseason. Sendejo started the preseason opener Aug. 12, while Griffin started the second game Aug. 18.

Minnesota Vikings QB Teddy Bridgewater (shoulder) did not play in the preseason game against the Seattle Seahawks Thursday, Aug. 18, because of a sore shoulder, according to sources. Bridgewater likely would have played if it was a regular season game, but the Vikings decided to keep him out.
Fantasy Tip: Bridgewater probably will be able to play in the next preseason game, but owners should keep an eye on the situation. The Vikings probably will continue to be more of a running team this season, which makes Bridgewater a No. 2 quarterback in most fantasy leagues.

Fantasy Tip: Thielen has been receiving work with the first-team offense during practice and has recorded 81 yards in two preseason games. He may have a chance to earn a bigger role on offense with his preseason performance, so owners should monitor the situation. Thielen probably should not be drafted in most leagues, but he could be a waiver wire option if he plays well early in the season.

Minnesota Vikings WR Jarius Wright (undisclosed) hasn't practice since Aug. 6, but said he's doing well and expects to return to practice sooner rather than later. Wright added that he'll definitely return in time to play in the preseason, he just doesn't know which game yet.
Fantasy Tip: Wright will still be low on the Vikings' depth chart when he does return. He can be avoided in all formats.

Fantasy Tip: The Vikings go as Adrian Peterson goes. They'll want to bend him all they can without breaking him. As is the case every year, Peterson should be one of the first running backs taken in fantasy drafts as he is arguably the most consistent running back in the league.

Minnesota Vikings RB Adrian Peterson may see his first preseason touches since 2011, provided he wants to play, according to Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer. Peterson played in a 2013 preseason game but did not handle the ball.
Fantasy Tip: This really doesn't matter, unless AD falls to injury. He doesn't need the work, and it's more likely that Zimmer doesn't risk it anyway. Peterson is a midrange RB1 in fantasy drafts.

Fantasy Tip: Johnson looks healthy after battling injuries last year, and for now, he is starting. Laquan Treadwell has more upside, but Johnson could still have value as a WR5.
Fri, 12 Aug 2016 19:45:45 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Treadwell should start and be one of Minnesota's top targets as a rookie. Draft him as a flex option in standard leagues.

Fantasy Tip: Owners should keep an eye on the situation during the preseason to see if he will have a role in the passing game. It appears Thielen will have a decent chance to make the 53-man roster, but he probably can be avoided in most drafts at this point.

Minnesota Vikings CB Trae Waynes was able to participate in practice Thursday, Aug. 11, after he missed a majority of practice Wednesday, Aug. 10, because of dehydration. Waynes is expected to start in the first preseason game Friday, Aug. 12.
