Vikings | Stefon Diggs finishes for 40 yards

Sun, 25 Sep 2016 13:43:41 -0700

Minnesota Vikings WR Stefon Diggs caught four passes for 40 yards against the Carolina Panthers in Week 3.

Fantasy Tip: Diggs recorded at least 100 yards in each of the first two games of the season but was held in check against the Panthers. He should be more involved in the passing game next week and should be a No. 2 or No. 3 receiver for owners.

Vikings | Kyle Rudolph finds end zone

Sun, 25 Sep 2016 13:38:01 -0700

Minnesota Vikings TE Kyle Rudolph caught seven passes for 70 yards and one touchdown against the Carolina Panthers in Week 1.

Fantasy Tip: Rudolph has scored a touchdown in each of his last two games and has been targeted at least eight times in all three games this season. He should continue to be a solid option in Minnesota's passing game and can be a low-end No. 1 tight end in deeper leagues.

Sun, 25 Sep 2016 13:17:09 -0700

Minnesota Vikings RB Matt Asiata rushed for 15 yards on six carries against the Carolina Panthers in Week 3. He also caught one pass for four yards.

Fantasy Tip: Asiata was facing a tough Panthers defense and should play better moving forward. He will receive playing time as long as Adrian Peterson is sidelined but will not be more than a flex option in most leagues.

Vikings | Matt Asiata to start Week 3

Sun, 25 Sep 2016 09:13:59 -0700

Minnesota Vikings RB Matt Asiata will be the starting running back for the Vikings in Week 3.

Fantasy Tip: Asiata should receive a decent amount of carries this week and likely will run between the tackles, while Jerick McKinnon will be used as a runner as well as a receiver out of the backfield. Both players are facing a tough Carolina Panthers defense but could still be flex options in fantasy leagues.

Vikings | Adrian Peterson hopes for rapid recovery

Sat, 24 Sep 2016 15:50:28 -0700

Minnesota Vikings RB Adrian Peterson (knee) has told people in and around the organization that he believes he can be ready to play when he is eligible to be activated from the Reserve/Injured list in eight weeks, according to sources. It is believed that it will take at least one month before doctors will be able to tell whether an expedited return for Peterson is possible.

Fantasy Tip: Peterson will miss at least half of the season because of the injury, but owners should monitor the situation to see if he will be able to play in the last few games. Jerick McKinnon and Matt Asiata will share work while Peterson is out. McKinnon can be a low-end No. 2 running back or a flex option in most leagues, while Asiata can be a flex option in deeper leagues.

Vikings | Stefon Diggs not on injury report

Fri, 23 Sep 2016 17:10:28 -0700

Updating a previous report, Minnesota Vikings WR Stefon Diggs (groin) is not on the injury report for Week 3 even though he missed practice Friday, Sept. 23.

Fantasy Tip: Diggs appears to be ready to play in Week 3 and should be a focal point in the passing game. He is a bit of an injury risk because of the injury, but he should still be considered a No. 2 receiver in most leagues.

Vikings | Stefon Diggs absent from practice Friday

Fri, 23 Sep 2016 12:24:55 -0700

Minnesota Vikings WR Stefon Diggs (groin) did not participate in practice Friday, Sept. 23, due to a groin injury. Head coach Mike Zimmer called the absence "precautionary" and the expectation is that Diggs will play Week 3 against the Carolina Panthers.

Fantasy Tip: Diggs appears to be in no danger of missing Week 3 and is a prime DFS target this week. The league's leading receiver through two weeks is coming off a nine-catch, 182-yard, one-score demolition of a Green Bay Packers' secondary that was missing Sam Shields and should face similar competition - rookie James Bradberry and slot corner Robert McClain - for the bulk of Sunday's contest. Diggs is a high-end WR2 at worst in this matchup.

Vikings | Adrian Peterson officially placed on IR

Fri, 23 Sep 2016 12:17:57 -0700

Minnesota Vikings RB Adrian Peterson (knee) was officially placed on injured reserve Friday, September 23.

Fantasy Tip: Peterson is expected to miss the rest of the regular season. In his absence, Matt Asiata and Jerick McKinnon will control the Minnesota backfield, with the latter having a considerably higher ceiling. Asiata, though, has value, too, as he could vulture numerous touchdowns from up close like he did in 2014 when Peterson missed all but one game.
