Vikings | Jerick McKinnon limited in practice

Mon, 29 Sep 2014 16:17:42 -0700

Minnesota Vikings RB Jerick McKinnon (ankle) was limited in practice Monday, Sept. 29.

Fantasy Tip: McKinnon's ankle injury doesn't seem serious, and he should be able to play on a short week against the Green Bay Packers. McKinnon showed some explosiveness in going over 100 yards in Week 4. He's a flex play, at best, with Matt Asiata in the picture and stealing goal-line looks, but McKinnon could be another sleeper play at your flex spot this week.

Vikings | Teddy Bridgewater misses practice

Mon, 29 Sep 2014 15:06:19 -0700

Minnesota Vikings QB Teddy Bridgewater (ankle) did not participate in practice Monday, Sept. 29. QB Christian Ponder worked with the first-team offense during practice.

Fantasy Tip: The team hopes Bridgewater will be able to play, but Ponder would get the start if Bridgewater sits out. Ponder should not be a starting option in any league and the team's wide receivers probably would lose some fantasy value if Ponder starts.

Vikings | Jarius Wright has chemistry with QB

Mon, 29 Sep 2014 13:58:18 -0700

Minnesota Vikings WR Jarius Wright said he created a solid chemistry with QB Teddy Bridgewater during the preseason, which is why he caught eight passes for 132 yards in Week 4. "Teddy knew where to put the ball to me on a couple throws," Wright said. "I kind of knew where to expect the ball. Our reps paid off. A lot of trust."

Fantasy Tip: Wright played well in Week 4 and could continue to have a role in the passing game because of his work with Bridgewater during the preseason. Wright could be a sleeper for owners this week and could be a good option for owners on FantasyScore since his price will probably be low.

Vikings | Teddy Bridgewater does it all

Mon, 29 Sep 2014 10:27:25 -0700

Minnesota Vikings QB Teddy Bridgewater ran five times for 27 yards, including a 13-yard touchdown run, in the team's Week 4 win over the Atlanta Falcons. However, he also opened up the team's downfield passing game, going 19 of 30 for 317 yards. He stayed in the pocket for 19 of his 29 throws, and he went 8-for-12 for 163 yards on throws that were 10 yards downfield or more.

Fantasy Tip: Bridgewater's ceiling is high in Norv Turner's offense. He'll be able to provide his fantasy owners with a little extra because of the fact that he can use his legs effectively to make big plays. In weekly leagues, he'll remain a sleeper at a cheaper cost. Play him based on matchups.

Vikings | Vikes hoping Teddy Bridgewater will play

Mon, 29 Sep 2014 10:18:53 -0700

Minnesota Vikings QB Teddy Bridgewater (ankle) and head coach Mike Zimmer are "hopeful" that the quarterback can play in Week 5 against the Green Bay Packers Thursday, Oct. 2. Bridgewater sprained his left ankle early in the fourth quarter in Week 4, but Zimmer said an MRI exam came back negative. Bridgewater was feeling much better Monday, Sept. 29. He threw for 317 yards against the Atlanta Falcons in his first start.

Fantasy Tip: It looks like there's a good chance that Bridgewater will play on a short week. Despite his solid performance against the Falcons, with little preparation and with a bum ankle, Bridgewater may not be the best option for your daily fantasy lineups.

Vikings | Cordarrelle Patterson staying patient

Fri, 26 Sep 2014 09:22:57 -0700

Minnesota Vikings WR Cordarrelle Patterson had three carries for 102 rushing yards and a touchdown in Week 1, but he has just one carry since then - a reverse that lost seven yards. With RB Adrian Peterson not around, though, Patterson hasn't asked to be more involved in the running game. "I trust everything coach Norv Turner is doing and the offensive staff," Patterson said. "When my time comes, my time is going to come and I'll be ready for it." Turner said the New Orleans Saints matched their best cornerback, Keenan Lewis, on Patterson and limited him to four catches for 61 yards. Turner wants to find more opportunities for Patterson, but he also wants to keep the offense balanced without Peterson.

Fantasy Tip: Patterson is the team's most dynamic playmaker with Peterson not around, which makes sense why opponents will be directing most of their attention to him from now on. However, his opportunities will increase, and that'll begin in Week 4 against the Atlanta Falcons. Patterson ($6,900; 13.8% of cap) could have a big day.
