Minnesota Vikings RB Adrian Peterson still has not come to grips with the prospect his 2014 season has all but officially ended and that his future in the NFL is uncertain, multiple sources said Sunday, Sept. 21. Even if Peterson reaches a plea deal on a child abuse charge with Texas prosecutors, the NFL will severely discipline the running back, according to sources. The team does not foresee Peterson in their future, according to team sources.

Minnesota Vikings RB Adrian Peterson wants his representation to accelerate his trial date for child-abuse charges, with the goal of getting it set for 2014, according to a source with knowledge of the situation. The broader goal will be to resolve the charges in time for Peterson to return to action for the Vikings this year. He would need to resolve the charges in a way that doesn't expose him to a potential suspension without pay under the personal-conduct policy.
Fantasy Tip: Until Peterson returns, it appears to be the Matt Asiata show. He hasn't lit it up in place of Peterson, but he has been an adequate low-end RB2 or flex play. Jerick McKinnon is waiting in the wings, but he was limited to four touches and suffered an injury. As far as AP, all fantasy owners can do is wait and hope their first-round pick can return sooner rather than later.

Minnesota Vikings QB Teddy Bridgewater will take over as the team's starting quarterback in Week 4 after QB Matt Cassel (foot) suffered fractured bones in his foot in Week 3 against the New Orleans Saints.
Fantasy Tip: Bridgewater is an intriguing option in FantasyScore for Week 4, as he could come with a very reasonable price tag. For those in standard fantasy formats, he is a less attractive option unless your league requires two starting signal callers.

Updating a previous report, Minnesota Vikings QB Matt Cassel (foot) has several fractured bones in his foot, head coach Mike Zimmer said Sunday, Sept. 21, after the Week 3 game against the New Orleans Saints.
Fantasy Tip: With Cassel sidelined, the head coach said Teddy Bridgewater will take over as the starting quarterback. In standard fantasy leagues, he is a low-end QB2 at best. In FantasyScore for Week 4, Bridgewater could be a very intriguing option if the price is right.

Updating a previous report, Minnesota Vikings TE Kyle Rudolph (groin) will have an MRI on his right groin Monday, Sept. 22. "Something popped. I've been battling it for a while," Rudolph said after the Week 3 game against the New Orleans Saints.

Minnesota Vikings RB Jerick McKinnon (ankle, foot) left the Week 3 game against the New Orleans Saints due to a right ankle or foot injury. He had his right ankle taped on the sidelines by a trainer, and was limited to two carries and two receptions on the afternoon.

Fantasy Tip: Rhett Ellison and MarQueis Gray are the other tight ends on the roster at this point. Neither player likely will be a fantasy option if Rudolph misses some time.

Fantasy Tip: Teddy Bridgewater has replaced Cassel and could keep the job if he plays well. Neither quarterback likely would be a good choice on FantasyScore at this point.

Fantasy Tip: An earlier trial would make the Vikings decide if Peterson will play again this season. Peterson should be kept on the bench until more details on his trial come out.
