Minnesota Vikings WR Charles Johnson is likely competing with WR Moritz Bohringer for a spot on the roster, according to beat writer Matt Vensel, who also mentioned that Johnson had a strong spring while working mainly with the first-team offense.
Fantasy Tip: Although it sounds like Johnson has an early edge on Bohringer to secure a roster spot, he is at best the No. 3 receiver in a run-heavy offense. He is unlikely to make an impact for fantasy owners.

Minnesota Vikings RB Jerick McKinnon could be more involved in the passing game if he was able to improve his pass protection over the offseason. He is not expected to receive more than 75 to 100 carries this season.
Fantasy Tip: McKinnon could use his speed in the passing game if he earns more playing time. He probably will see limited touches in the running game unless Adrian Peterson suffers an injury. McKinnon should be considered a late-round option in most leagues but may have more value in point-per-reception leagues.

Minnesota Vikings WR Cordarrelle Patterson could still be spending much of his time on the bench in 2016 if WR Charles Johnson improves during training camp. Patterson is expected to play behind WRs Stefon Diggs, Laquon Treadwell and Johnson.
Fantasy Tip: Patterson will be in prove-it mode entering a contract season, but he has been more than disappointing the last two seasons. Barring an injury to one of three receivers above him, Patterson can continue to be avoided, although taking him as a deep flier in deeper leagues isn't a bad strategy.

Minnesota Vikings RB Adrian Peterson will be part of a more shotgun-centric offense this season, and he struggled to run out of the gun early last year. The team shifted its offense to run more plays under center afterwards. Peterson vowed to become a better receiver this offseason.
Fantasy Tip: Peterson has proven time and time again not to count him out, but he has a lot working against him from a fantasy perspective this season. He's 31, has never been a great receiver, and the offense seems to be shifting to more of a spread offense. This will benefit Jerick McKinnon. Peterson remains a midrange RB1, but all of these factors make him a little less attractive in fantasy. McKinnon is an attractive RB5, but his usage outlook continues to gain steam. He could continue to move up the fantasy pecking order.

Fantasy Tip: Bridgewater will be looking to improve on his 2015 stats and working out with his targets should help his play in his third season with the Vikings. He probably should be considered as a No. 2 quarterback in most fantasy leagues.

Minnesota Vikings WR Laquon Treadwell should be the physical, chain-moving receiver that offensive coordinator Norv Turner has been looking for over the last few seasons. Turner was happy with Treadwell's instincts and route running during offseason workouts. Treadwell said the Vikings' offense is similar to the one he played in college, where he was asked to run short and intermediate routes.
Fantasy Tip: Treadwell has a terrific chance to start in 2016 and should be one of the team's top targets during his rookie season. He should be a middle- to late-round option in most leagues and will more valuable option in keeper leagues.

Fantasy Tip: One of the first critiques you'll hear about QB Teddy Bridgewater is his ability to throw the ball downfield. It would make sense to throw more screens and short-yardage passes to backs. Adrian Peterson has never been a renowned receiver, and he's probably coming off the field for third down anyway. So it shouldn't affect him too much. McKinnon also has luster due to Peterson's mileage. Look for McKinnon atop the RB5 spectrum.

Fantasy Tip: Treadwell is a big, physical receiver, and he could become the go-to option in Minnesota's passing attack as soon as this season. He is worth a look as a WR4.

Minnesota Vikings RB Adrian Peterson is working out in Houston at a training facility he helped to open. He is going through grueling workouts, trying to put his various training disciplines - hill sprints, weight lifting, agility drills, core work, pool training, boxing and MMA sparring - in one place. Peterson also runs 10 40-yard dashes, with 30 seconds' rest in between each. The slowest of them should be no worse than 4.49 to 4.55 seconds.
Fantasy Tip: Peterson is performing at a high level and despite being 31 years old, he is in tip top shape and ready to perform as a first-round fantasy selection should. Peterson is showing no signs of slowing down.

Minnesota Vikings WR Cordarrelle Patterson logged 469 yards from scrimmage and six touchdowns over the final six games of 2013, and the Vikings ranked 13th in total yards. He touched the ball four times from scrimmage last year, and the Vikings ranked 29th.
Fantasy Tip: Patterson hasn't been given much of a chance to use his game-changing explosiveness, but he still has some intriguing potential. He could be worth a late-round flier in deeper leagues, and he is worth monitoring in all formats in case Minnesota decides to make him a bigger part of the offense.

Minnesota Vikings WR Cordarrelle Patterson admitted that after he was the No. 29 overall pick in 2013, he didn't always work as hard as he should have. "Sometimes you can be here and you feel like you've got to be on the team," Patterson said. "You feel like, 'Yeah, I'm a first-round pick, I'm on the team.' Things like that, sometimes they make you not work hard, they make you don't want to do things, make you be lazy." Patterson had 45 catches for 469 yards in his rookie season but lost his starting job midway through 2014 and had just two catches for 10 yards in 2015.
Fantasy Tip: Reports in offseason workouts have been good for Patterson, and he's been praised by the coaching staff for his improved work ethic and route running. But it might be too late for Patterson. The Vikes spent another first-round pick on receiver Laquon Treadwell, and it might prove to be an uphill battle for playing time with Charles Johnson and Jarius Wright this year. Patterson has been much better on special teams, but that doesn't do much for fantasy owners. Unless Patterson continues to impress and leapfrogs someone on the depth chart, leave him undrafted in typical fantasy leagues.

Minnesota Vikings WR Cordarrelle Patterson has earned the praise of head coach Mike Zimmer this offseason, as Zimmer has lauded Patterson's work ethic and improved route running. Patterson plans to work out for a week or two in Florida with QB Teddy Bridgewater, and he might go to San Francisco for additional conditioning work.
Fantasy Tip: Patterson is in a contract year, so there is some motivation for him there, too. He is trying to work his way into a starting job opposite Stefon Diggs, but he still has a ways to go before he makes that leap. The urgency for Patterson is nice, and it sounds like he is finally getting it. With his speed he has the chance to be a great late-round fantasy find if this uptick continues.
