Vikings | Minnesota's Thursday injury report

Thu, 19 Oct 2017 14:19:10 -0700

Minnesota Vikings OG Nick Easton (calf) and WR Michael Floyd (hamstring) did not practice Thursday, Oct. 19. CB Mackensie Alexander (hip), LB Anthony Barr (concussion, ankle) and CT Tramaine Brock (hamstring) were limited. LB Emmanuel Lamur (ribs), CB Xavier Rhodes (shoulder), SS Andrew Sendejo (groin) and WR Laquon Treadwell (toe) participated fully

Vikings | Jerick McKinnon fully healthy

Thu, 19 Oct 2017 14:14:14 -0700

Minnesota Vikings RB Jerick McKinnon (ankle) was a full participant in practice Thursday, Oct. 19.

Fantasy Tip: McKinnon has taken the NFL by storm since he was integrated as the featured running back two weeks ago. In those games, he has averaged 122.5 total yards, 5.5 catches and 1.5 touchdowns. The Baltimore Ravens have been susceptible to the running game this year, too, so start McKinnon as a low-end RB1 to high-end RB2.

Vikings | No practice for Sam Bradford

Thu, 19 Oct 2017 14:09:16 -0700

Minnesota Vikings QB Sam Bradford (knee) missed practice Thursday, Oct. 19.

Fantasy Tip: It seems as though Bradford will be sidelined for at least this week. He'll have some tough competition to best when he returns, too, with Teddy Bridgewater (knee) on the mend and Case Keenum playing well. Still, no Vikings quarterback can be trusted as a consistent weekly starter and Keenum is comfortably in QB2 territory this week versus a stingy Baltimore Ravens pass defense.

Vikings | Stefon Diggs not at practice

Thu, 19 Oct 2017 14:03:56 -0700

Minnesota Vikings WR Stefon Diggs (groin) was unable to practice Thursday, Oct. 19.

Fantasy Tip: Diggs has already said his Week 7 status is up in the air after missing two practices in a row. On the apparent off chance he does play then he likely won't be full go. Have a contingency plan in place incase Diggs is inactive again.

Vikings | Stefon Diggs unsure of status

Thu, 19 Oct 2017 10:07:47 -0700

Minnesota Vikings WR Stefon Diggs (groin) said his status for this weekend is up in the air at this point, adding that his 2016 groin injury was more severe than his current groin issue.

Fantasy Tip: Do the Vikings want to rest their star receiver another week to get him back to full health or are they willing to take a chance on aggravating Diggs' injury? If Diggs does play, he'd be facing one of the best pass defenses in the NFL in the Baltimore Ravens. Prospects are bleak for Diggs this week.

Vikings | Teddy Bridgewater has great first practice

Wed, 18 Oct 2017 18:10:32 -0700

Minnesota Vikings QB Teddy Bridgewater (knee) returned to practice Wednesday, Oct. 18, following a 14-month absence, and received rave reviews, with TE Kyle Rudolph even comparing him to retired QB Joe Montana. However, head coach Mike Zimmer said that Bridgewater "probably" won't play this week.

Fantasy Tip: It's awesome to see Bridgewater back on the field after sustaining a career-threatening injury last summer. It's even better that he apparently picked up where he left off after having what was reportedly a very good practice. While this is a great start for the 24-year-old, owners shouldn't start considering him as a serious fantasy option for at least several more weeks.

Vikings | Full practice for Jerick McKinnon

Wed, 18 Oct 2017 13:46:53 -0700

Minnesota Vikings RB Jerick McKinnon (ankle) was able to take part in a full practice Wednesday, Oct. 18.

Fantasy Tip: McKinnon had a monster game in Week 6 and now he is looking to follow it up with another, picking up the slack of the injured rookie Dalvin Cook. The Ravens rank 30th in the NFL against the run, giving up 141.3 yards per game on the ground, so it could be another banner week for McKinnon.

Vikings | Sam Bradford does not practice

Wed, 18 Oct 2017 13:46:23 -0700

Minnesota Vikings QB Sam Bradford (knee) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Oct. 18.

Fantasy Tip: Bradford has so much talent, but he just cannot stay healthy. It appears Case Keenum might be headed for another start in Week 7 against the Baltimore Ravens, but check back officially on Friday.

Vikings | Minnesota practice report for Wed.

Wed, 18 Oct 2017 13:46:00 -0700

Minnesota Vikings LB Anthony Barr (concussion, ankle), QB Sam Bradford (knee), WR Stefon Diggs (groin), OG Nick Easton (calf) and WR Michael Floyd (hamstring) did not practice Wednesday, Oct. 18. CB Mackensie Alexander (hip), CB Xavier Rhodes (shoulder) and S Andrew Sendejo (groin) were listed as limited participants, while LB Emmanuel Lamur (ribs) and RB Jerick McKinnon (ankle) practiced in full.

Vikings | Stefon Diggs does not practice Wednesday

Wed, 18 Oct 2017 11:27:45 -0700

Minnesota Vikings WR Stefon Diggs (groin) did not practice again Wednesday, Oct. 18.

Fantasy Tip: Diggs was unable to practice all of last week and isn't getting off to a great start this week. With Michael Floyd (calf) also not practicing Wednesday, Adam Thielen could repeat his 13 targets from a week ago versus the Baltimore Ravens. If Diggs and Floyd cannot go in Week 7, it would also likely push 2016 first-round draft pick Laquon Treadwell into the starting lineup.

Vikings | Teddy Bridgewater will come off PUP list

Mon, 16 Oct 2017 11:40:00 -0700

Updating a previous report, Minnesota Vikings QB Teddy Bridgewater (knee) will be taken off the Physically Unable to Perform list and should practice Wednesday, Oct. 18.

Fantasy Tip: It's been a long time coming for Bridgewater to return to practice. Case Keenum has filled in splendidly for the most part with both Bridgewater and Sam Bradford out of commission. The Vikings may have a three-way competition at the position on their hands once Bradford and Bridgewater are ready to go. None of them should be considered weekly QB1 options, however.

Vikings | Teddy Bridgewater cleared

Mon, 16 Oct 2017 08:32:47 -0700

Updating an earlier report, Minnesota Vikings QB Teddy Bridgewater (knee) has been cleared to practice by doctors Monday, Oct. 16.

Fantasy Tip: He will probably need a couple of weeks before he is considered ready to play. With Sam Bradford (knee) ailing, there's an opportunity. However, Case Keenum is playing the best ball of his career. Bridgewater is watch-list material right now.

Vikings | Harrison Smith busy in victory

Sun, 15 Oct 2017 16:23:45 -0700

Minnesota Vikings S Harrison Smith factored in on five total tackles while posting 1.5 sacks, one tackle for loss, two passes defensed and two quarterback hits in Week 6 against the Green Bay Packers.

Vikings | Five grabs for Kyle Rudolph

Sun, 15 Oct 2017 16:21:35 -0700

Minnesota Vikings TE Kyle Rudolph posted five catches for 47 yards on nine targets in Week 6 against the Green Bay Packers.

Fantasy Tip: Rudolph remains a solid low-end TE1 in all fantasy leagues, especially PPR formats. While he failed to find the end zone, he has posted 11 catches over the past two games. The Vikings host the Ravens in Week 7, a team which has struggled to contain tight ends this season.
