Vikings | Sam Bradford trusts Kyle Rudolph

Fri, 30 Sep 2016 21:01:21 -0700

Minnesota Vikings TE Kyle Rudolph is easy to trust because of his big catch radius, according to QB Sam Bradford.

Fantasy Tip: Bradford has targeted Rudolph 18 times in two games, and the strong chemistry between the two makes Rudolph a TE1 against the Giants in Week 4.

Vikings | Stefon Diggs limited Friday

Fri, 30 Sep 2016 14:02:56 -0700

Minnesota Vikings WR Stefon Diggs (groin) was limited in practice on Friday, Sept. 30.

Fantasy Tip: Diggs didn't practice last Friday and has an extra day this week given the Vikings' upcoming showdown with the New York Giants on Monday night. There was a report earlier today that Janoris Jenkins might shadow the second-year wideout, but it should be of little concern to Diggs' owners. Fire him up as a strong WR2 option this week.

Minnesota Vikings TE David Morgan II (knee) and DT Sharrif Floyd (knee) did not participate in practice Friday, Sept. 30. Vikings | Jerick McKinnon takes part in practice

Fri, 30 Sep 2016 13:52:08 -0700

Minnesota Vikings RB Jerick McKinnon (toe) fully participated in practice Friday, Sept. 30.

Fantasy Tip: McKinnon should be fine for the team's Week 4 game and will share snaps with Matt Asiata again. He recorded only 47 yards of total offense in Week 3 and will be facing a solid New York Giants defense. McKinnon could be a flex option in leagues but could also be benched if owners have better options.

Vikings | Stefon Diggs limited Friday

Fri, 30 Sep 2016 13:46:42 -0700

Minnesota Vikings WR Stefon Diggs (groin) was limited during practice Friday, Sept. 30.

Fantasy Tip: Owners should keep an eye on Diggs' status over the next day or two to see if he is in any danger of missing the Week 4 game. Diggs was held to 40 yards in Week 3 but is one of the main targets in the team's passing game. Diggs should be a No. 2 receiver this week if he is able to play.

Vikings | Janoris Jenkins could follow Stefon Diggs

Fri, 30 Sep 2016 10:15:07 -0700

Minnesota Vikings WR Stefon Diggs may on the receiving end of shadow coverage of New York Giants CB Janoris Jenkins in Week 4 given the Giants' depth issues in the secondary, according to the Bergen County Record's Art Stapleton.

Fantasy Tip: Jenkins may be a highly paid cornerback, but there are a few reasons not to worry here. Diggs will line up all over the field and Jenkins is extremely unlikely to follow him into the slot, so there will be plenty of time the two are not lined up against each other. Jenkins is also more of the gambling type, so Diggs could easily hit a big play or two with a double move. Consider Diggs a strong WR2 at worst regardless of how the Giants choose to cover him.

Minnesota Vikings FB Zach Line (knee), OG Alex Boone (hip), TE David Morgan II (knee) and DT Sharrif Floyd (knee) did not practice Thursday, Sept. 29. LB Anthony Barr (wrist), CB Xavier Rhodes (knee) and TE MyCole Pruitt (knee) participated fully.

Vikings | Jerick McKinnon has full practice

Thu, 29 Sep 2016 14:24:48 -0700

Minnesota Vikings RB Jerick McKinnon (toe) participated fully in practice Thursday, Sept. 29.

Fantasy Tip: McKinnon will be the Vikings' primary running back again this week, but the New York Giants have been stingy against the position so far this year, yielding just 74 rushing yards per game so far. McKinnon shouldn't necessarily be benched, but he's no more than a flex option with a bad matchup and Matt Asiata taking some snaps, too.

Vikings | Jerick McKinnon easily has most snaps

Tue, 27 Sep 2016 14:34:00 -0700

Minnesota Vikings RB Jerick McKinnon played 35 offensive snaps in Week 3.

Fantasy Tip: There's no question McKinnon is the lead back in Minnesota as Matt Asiata only received 19 offensive snaps, but McKinnon didn't do much in his first start after Adrian Peterson's injury. His next opponent, the New York Giants, has been a stalwart versus running backs, too, yielding just 222 rushing yards and one rushing touchdown to running backs through the first three weeks of the season. McKinnon is still a flex option, but not much more than that for Week 4.

Vikings | Laquon Treadwell overthinking

Mon, 26 Sep 2016 12:43:18 -0700

Minnesota Vikings WR Laquon Treadwell is still thinking too much as he tries to get comfortable in the offense, according to head coach Mike Zimmer.

Fantasy Tip: Treadwell is a popular breakout candidate this summer, but an adjustment period for a player transitioning from a college spread attack to Norv Turner's offense should have been expected despite the hype. The rookie belongs on watch lists and should eventually fulfill his promise, although it is looking more and more likely he'll be Stefon Diggs' long-term sidekick and not the other way around.

Vikings | Adrian Peterson focused on 2016 return

Mon, 26 Sep 2016 09:25:51 -0700

Minnesota Vikings RB Adrian Peterson (knee) is focused solely on playing again this season, according to a report from Pro Football Talk.

Fantasy Tip: Peterson has to sit out until Week 11, but it would be mistake to rule him out for the season given his track record. Owners in deeper leagues or those with IR spots are advised to hold as long as possible in part because AP is one of the few true feature backs around, but Minnesota's offensive line has been so bad so far that he should be considered no more than a RB2 even if he does return. Jerick McKinnon will continue to serve as the lead back during his Peterson's absence.
