Dolphins | Miami to get trio back on field for OTAs

Sat, 19 May 2018 19:05:50 -0700

Miami Dolphins QB Ryan Tannehill (knee), LB Raekwon McMillan (knee) and CB Tony Lippett (Achilles') are all expected to be on the field in some capacity next week, although it is still uncertain how much work all three will actually do, according to Joe Schad of the Palm Beach Post.

Dolphins | Danny Amendola making an impact

Thu, 17 May 2018 19:15:56 -0700

Miami Dolphins WR Danny Amendola's work ethic has been impressing the coaching staff and rubbing off on the locker room, according to head coach Adam Gase. "Any time you can get a guy who can not only produce for you but can be a great example for other guys in your locker room, he's making other guys better," Gase said. "He makes 24 other offensive guys better if they watch him work."

Fantasy Tip: Amendola should have a steady role as Miami's slot receiver this year, but injuries are always a concern. He's a potential WR3 in PPR formats.

Dolphins | Ryan Tannehill looking good for OTAs

Tue, 15 May 2018 15:08:40 -0700

Miami Dolphins QB Ryan Tannehill (knee) will not be limited much if he is limited at all during organized team activities next week, according to sources. The coaching staff may choose to limit him more no matter what team doctors say, though.

Fantasy Tip: Tannehill seems geared for a productive offseason if his knee can handle it. Brock Osweiler and David Fales should see plenty of repetitions, too, in order to keep Tannehill fresh and to avoid aggravation. Tannehill's production isn't at a QB1 level when healthy, so draft him as a backup, per usual.

Dolphins | Dowell Loggains talks Kalen Ballage

Mon, 14 May 2018 12:50:51 -0700

Miami Dolphins rookie RB Kalen Ballage has the ability to play all three downs, according to offensive coordinator Dowell Loggains. "We're excited about trying to tap him out. He's got size, he's got height, weight, speed. We've got to figure out what he does well and find out quickly," Loggains said. "Because of his size and speed and the ability to catch the ball, he can play all three downs." Ballage will play behind RBs Kenyan Drake and Frank Gore to start the year.

Dolphins | Two Dolphins WRs may return punts

Mon, 14 May 2018 10:08:52 -0700

Miami Dolphins WRs Danny Amendola and Albert Wilson will be candidates to return punts this upcoming season, according to special teams coordinator Darren Rizzi.

Fantasy Tip: Amendola and Wilson will have roles in the passing game, so their work as returners probably would be limited. Amendola has a chance to be a late-round option in deeper leagues, while Wilson probably can be avoided in most leagues.

Dolphins | Miami wants Mike Gesicki on the field

Sat, 12 May 2018 18:56:13 -0700

Miami Dolphins offensive coordinator Dowell Loggains said they could use more sets with three tight ends this year in order to utilize TE Mike Gesicki.

Fantasy Tip: All signs continue to point to Gesicki having a sizeable role in the offense. The rookie isn't a complete package at the position, but he is ready to contribute as a receiver immediately. He is a TE2 with a bunch of upside.

Fri, 11 May 2018 18:40:57 -0700

Miami Dolphins QB David Fales was impressive in his Week 17 start last year and will have a chance to compete with QB Brock Osweiler to be the backup quarterback in 2018, according to head coach Adam Gase.

Dolphins | Mike Gesicki ready to make impact

Fri, 11 May 2018 18:25:30 -0700

Miami Dolphins TE Mike Gesicki said his best attributes right now are "scoring touchdowns in the red zone" and making contested catches. "That's one of reasons I was picked where I was," Gesicki said.

Fantasy Tip: Gesicki isn't ready to contribute as a blocker, but he should make an immediate impact as a receiver. His potential in the red zone makes him worth grabbing as a TE2.

Dolphins | DeVante Parker playing with purpose

Thu, 10 May 2018 11:36:28 -0700

Miami Dolphins WR DeVante Parker has done a great job so far this offseason and seems to be playing with more of a purposed, according to head coach Adam Gase. Gase posited that injuries have been the main hindrance to Parker's growth and development, including a high-ankle sprain last season. Furthermore, he believes the presence of fellow WRs Kenny Stills and Danny Amendola will aid Parker's growth.

Fantasy Tip: Here we are again - another offseason in which Parker is being talked up. Last year was supposed to be Parker's breakout party, but the ankle injury was legitimate. If he can stay healthy in 2018, we might finally see that long-awaited season. View him as a WR3.

Dolphins | Kenyan Drake ready for breakout?

Thu, 10 May 2018 10:13:16 -0700

Miami Dolphins RB Kenyan Drake is ready to "bust out" this season, according to head coach Adam Gase.

Fantasy Tip: We can only assume that "bust out" and "break out" are the same thing. Gase is right, though, Drake is a prime breakout candidate heading into 2018. His main competition will be soon-to-be 35-year-old Frank Gore, but Gore should primarily be used in short-yardage and goal-line scenarios. Drake sits comfortably in RB2 territory with added PPR appeal.

Dolphins | Durham Smythe could see some targets

Wed, 09 May 2018 18:20:53 -0700

Miami Dolphins TE Durham Smythe should have a role in the passing game because the team believes he is a better receiver than he is given credit for. The team also likes his blocking ability.

Wed, 09 May 2018 18:09:17 -0700

Miami Dolphins QB Brock Osweiler is considered the leading candidate for the No. 2 quarterback job entering training camp, but QB David Fales could win the job if Osweiler struggles during the preseason.
