The Associated Press reports a jury in the U.S. Virgin Islands has awarded Miami Dolphins LB Jason Taylor and two partners the return of a $1.5 million deposit from the botched sale of a private island. Taylor will be given his share of the deposit, plus expenses, after a jury found that the seller breached a contract for the sale of the island.

Edgar Thompson, of the Palm Beach Post, reports Miami Dolphins CB Vontae Davis has been cleared of all charges stemming from a traffic incident in Champagne Ill., because the police are satisfied that Davis was not the person they pulled over. "We have dismissed the traffic ticket and ordinance violation issued in Vontae Davis' name. We are satisfied that he was not the individual we had contact with June 9, 2009. We are working to identify who the individual actually is and pursue charges against him. We regret any embarrassment or inconvenience this situation has caused for Mr. Davis," said John F. Murphy of the Champaign police department in a statement.

His base salaries were rookie minimums: $310,000 (2009), $395,000 (2010), $480,000 (2011) and $565,000 (2012). His 2012 salary could jump to $2.1 million based on an escalator clause tied to on-field performance. The maximum value of the deal is $4 million.

Contrary to a previous report, Aaron Wilson, for ProFootballTalk.com, reports the Miami Dolphins have denied a previous report that stated CB Vontae Davis was arrested Tuesday, June 9, in Illinois, saying Davis was in South Florida on the alleged date. "I spoke to Vontae, and he told me he was in South Florida all day on June 9, the day the incident supposedly occurred. In addition, we had a scheduled OTA that morning that Vontae attended, and he also attended a rookie life-skill session that afternoon. Finally, we also know he was in the building at 7:00 a.m. the next morning. So, in addition to Vontae's own word that he wasn't in Champaign, it's almost physically impossible for him to have been there at the time the incident allegedly took place," Dolphins spokesman Harvey Greene said in an e-mail.

However, after the year, he watched tape of himself and said he could see he wasn't 100 percent healthy. "I feel right now I'm more explosive right now in the things I'm doing. I watched (last year's plays) and thought there's more I could've done," Brown said. Brown is entering the final year of his contract and the Dolphins have invested a lot into their offensive line, so this could be the season he finally is ready to stand out. Head coach Tony Sparano has challenged Brown to break more long runs this year, and Brown said that is one of his goals.
