Armando Salguero, of the Miami Herald, reports Miami Dolphins RB Ricky Williams looks more explosive, more comfortable and healthier than RB Ronnie Brown (knee, thumb) so far in the preseason. Williams has 74 yards on 15 carries while Brown, who has dealt with some knee soreness during training camp, has 6 yards on five carries. The Dolphins are trying to determine which one of their backs is the starter, and which back is the come off the bench relief specialist.

Updating previous reports, Ben Volin, of the Palm Beach Post, reports Miami Dolphins RB Ronnie Brown (thumb, knee) suffered a thumb injury Saturday, Aug. 16, but it was not too serious. Brown demonstrated he could rotate his thumb after the game. He was wearing a soft cast on it during the second half of the game. Brown said that was simply precautionary. He said he could have played during the second half of the game had it been in the regular season.

Allen got tangled with WR David Kircus when suddenly Allen nailed Kircus with a forearm. Kircus fell to the ground and Allen jumped on him and started throwing punches at Kircus. As Allen stepped back, TE Sean P. Ryan decided to defend Kircus by leaping into the fight. A melee broke out as around 30 players from both sides of the ball piled on.
