Retired LB Channing Crowder said he is open to returning to football but not with his former team, the Miami Dolphins, because of general manager Jeff Ireland. "I wouldn't go on a team with Jeff Ireland. I'm not very confident in him," Crowder said. "He doesn't know what he's doing in my opinion ... He's not a good person. He has no class, and I wouldn't choose to go back and play there. And I would have to say it's the only team I don't want to play for."

Retired LB Channing Crowder (Dolphins) said Wednesday, Feb. 1, that he plans to return to football in 2012 after a one-year hiatus. He abruptly retired in Aug. 2011, and said he wouldn't return to the Miami Dolphins, citing a disdain for general manager Jeff Ireland. "I wouldn't go on a team with Jeff Ireland. I'm not very confident in him," Crowder said. "He doesn't know what he's doing in my opinion. He's not a good person. He has no class, and I wouldn't choose to go back and play there. And I would have to say it's the only team I don't want to play for."

Packers QB Aaron Rodgers told a Milwaukee radio station last week that it "makes sense" that Flynn and Philbin would be reunited with the Dolphins. WR Brandon Marshall reached out to Flynn Friday, Jan. 27, in a move which is not considered tampering.

Miami Dolphins WR Brandon Marshall has reached out to Green Bay Packers QB Matt Flynn, who is scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent in March. "You've got some guys in the draft, but there's too many guys out there just walking the streets," Marshall said. "Matt is available. We've talked. I reached out to him. I get it from (Baltimore Ravens LB Ray Lewis). Around this time of year, players talk to players." It is not considered tampering if a player talks to a player, and the league confirmed it's not a violation of any rules.

Philbin previously served as Green Bay's offensive coordinator. "I think it kind of makes sense. Joe in that system, which I'm sure is going to be very similar to this system, and Matt having a great grasp of that and playing well in his recent opportunities. I think it would kind of make sense to bring Matt out there," Rodgers said. "I think it's a strong possibility that they (the Dolphins) would make a run at him."
