Dolphins | Jarvis Landry getting it done in the slot

Tue, 20 Jun 2017 19:50:08 -0700

Miami Dolphins WR Jarvis Landry has secured 199 catches out of the slot over the last three seasons, more than any other receiver in the NFL over that time.

Fantasy Tip: Much of Landry's production out of the slot came in his first two seasons, but that doesn't diminish just how consistently he gets open regardless of where he lines up. The fourth-year wideout is a rock-solid WR2 in most leagues and only needs to find the end zone more often in order to become a WR1.

Dolphins | Jarvis Landry will not hold out

Tue, 20 Jun 2017 09:03:29 -0700

Miami Dolphins WR Jarvis Landry will not negotiate with the Dolphins regarding a contract extension after the start of the season, according to his agent, who added the receiver will not hold out training camp if the deal is not reached in the next few weeks.

Fantasy Tip: It's more than a bit surprising Miami hasn't already locked him up, but at least owners should be able to breathe easier regarding his status for the upcoming season. With no fewer than 84 catches in any of his first three seasons, he's a solid WR2 who only needs to find the end zone a bit more often in order to become a WR1.

Dolphins | Charles Harris disruptive

Mon, 19 Jun 2017 07:35:33 -0700

Miami Dolphins DE Charles Harris' quick first step was problematic for the team's offensive linemen in organized team activities and minicamp. He should make an impact in 2017 despite a limited role, in the opinion of beat writer James Walker.

Dolphins | Julius Thomas struggling

Sun, 18 Jun 2017 20:23:15 -0700

Miami Dolphins TE Julius Thomas has been a non-factor in practices and appears to have chemistry issues with QB Ryan Tannehill, according to Omar Kelly of the Sun-Sentinel.

Fantasy Tip: The Dolphins are hoping that Thomas can be the weapon he was in Denver and not the bust he was in Jacksonville, but the early returns don't sound encouraging. You can stash him as a TE2 in case he returns to form, but don't count on him being a fantasy starter.

Dolphins | Jay Ajayi rounding out his game

Sun, 18 Jun 2017 08:04:56 -0700

Miami Dolphins RB Jay Ajayi looks much smoother running routes and finishing receptions than he did last year, as catching the ball out of the backfield became a major focus during his offseason training. "The questions that he brings up to us are very detailed. They're really beyond next-level questions. They're almost kind of quarterback-ish questions for a running back," head coach Adam Gase said.

Fantasy Tip: Ajayi managed only 27 receptions for 151 yards and averaged only 5.6 yards per catch during his breakout 2016 season. Despite Miami's desire to get Kenyan Drake more involved in the passing game, the third-year back doesn't want to come off the field and is working toward that end. Ajayi is a rock-solid RB1 and only needs to carry his improvement as a receiver into the regular season in order to become an elite fantasy back.

Thu, 15 Jun 2017 13:25:25 -0700

Miami Dolphins C Mike Pouncey (hip) is on a good track and improving well in his recovery from hip surgery, although it's unclear at this point if he will be able to participate in training camp. Dolphins | Coach happy with Ryan Tannehill's accuracy

Tue, 13 Jun 2017 18:02:46 -0700

Miami Dolphins QB Ryan Tannehill's accuracy has been really good during offseason workouts, according to head coach Adam Gase.

Fantasy Tip: Tannehill completed 67.1 percent of his passes in 2016, which was tied for sixth in the NFL. He struggled a bit with 12 interceptions but did finish with 19 touchdowns and 2,995 passing yards before suffering a season-ending injury. He will have plenty of weapons to work with in the offense and would be a fine No. 2 fantasy quarterback.

Dolphins | Jarvis Landry reports for minicamp

Tue, 13 Jun 2017 17:45:10 -0700

Miami Dolphins WR Jarvis Landry reported for the start of minicamp Tuesday, June 13, even though he is looking for a new contract. Landry would like to sign an extension before the start of training camp.

Fantasy Tip: The Dolphins will have a little over a month to work something out with Landry, so owners should keep an eye on the situation. Landry ranked 10th in the NFL with 1,136 yards in 2016 and tied for seventh with 94 receptions. He is the main target in the passing game for Miami and should be low-end No. 1 of a No. 2 receiver in fantasy leagues.

Dolphins | Kenny Stills back on the field

Tue, 13 Jun 2017 17:39:31 -0700

Miami Dolphins WR Kenny Stills (undisclosed) participated in practice Tuesday, June 13. Stills missed the last two organized team activities because of a minor injury.

Fantasy Tip: Stills should receive a solid amount of playing time in 2017 after posting 726 yards and nine touchdowns this past season. Owners in most leagues should consider Stills as a No. 3 or No. 4 receiver.
