Updating a previous report, Miami Dolphins RB Jay Ajayi (rib) suffered a cracked rib in the final preseason game Thursday, Sept. 3. The team isn't overly concerned. Ajayi ran nine times for 66 yards and caught two passes for 37 yards in the game before the injury.

Fantasy Tip: Parker has been slowed by a foot injury, but he offers plenty of upside thanks to his physical tools, especially in the red zone. Draft him as a WR4 in seasonal leagues, but he could be worth starting by the end of the year.

Fantasy Tip: Ajayi could end up being the primary backup to Lamar Miller this season, but he shouldn't be viewed as more than RB5.

Fantasy Tip: It will be Parker's first professional action as he missed all of training camp and has not played in the preseason. Parker's roster spot isn't in jeopardy, but it will be interesting to see how confident he looks. Don't expect him to do a lot, though. He shouldn't be drafted higher than a WR4.

Fantasy Tip: It isn't likely that Parker would see a lot of playing time if he does play, but this is promising for his Week 1 availability. The Dolphins could ease him in, though, so be patient with Parker. He should be viewed as a low-end WR4 to high-end WR5.

Miami Dolphins TE Dion Sims could be a starter, according to head coach Joe Philbin. Philbin said Sims can do a lot of different tasks and is coming along nicely. Unfortunately for Sims, TE Jordan Cameron is starting.
Fantasy Tip: That's all well and good, but Sims is still the backup and will remain as such as long as Cameron is healthy. He'll only have fantasy value if Cameron misses time.

Miami Dolphins WR Rishard Matthews has shown a lot of growth this offseason, according to QB Ryan Tannehill. "I would say that over the last six months I have seen the most growth from him," Tannehill said. "He is growing as a man, growing as a player, and developing his game in all aspects. His consistency is at an all-time high."
Fantasy Tip: Matthews has played well after asking to be traded last spring. He even scored in the Dolphins' third preseason game over the weekend. Temper your expectations for Matthews, though, as Jarvis Landry, Kenny Stills, Greg Jennings and DeVante Parker, when he's healthy, are expected to receive more playing opportunities.

Fantasy Tip: Miller has yet to be used to his full potential, and 2015 could be the year in which that happens. He runs the ball well and is a receiving threat out of the backfield. He totaled nearly 1,400 yards and nine touchdowns last season. He's primed to build on those numbers this season. Draft him as a low-end RB1 to high-end RB2.

Fantasy Tip: Sturgis isn't a player who will go drafted in standard fantasy formats, but he will be a player worth keeping an eye in FantasyScore as he kicks in the fair weather of South Florida.

Miami Dolphins PK Andrew Franks is locked in competition with PK Caleb Sturgis for the starting placekicker job, and it isn't over yet. However, Sturgis has been better lately. If Franks loses out, the club might keep him on the practice squad.

Miami Dolphins TE Dion Sims is behind TE Jordan Cameron on the depth chart, but head coach Joe Philbin said Monday, Aug. 31, that he also views Sims as a starter. "He can do a lot of different jobs; is coming along nicely," Philbin said.
Fantasy Tip: Sims isn't worth a fantasy roster spot in any format unless Cameron suffers some sort of injury which requires him to miss time.

Miami Dolphins RB LaMichael James is on the bubble for a 53-man roster spot, but he remains confident. "I think I'll be here," James said. He has impressed as a runner and kick returner in the preseason.
Fantasy Tip: James might crack the roster, but he has plenty of players to leapfrog before he will have any fantasy appeal outside of leagues which reward individual return yardage.
