Dolphins | Adam Gase not worried about run game

Sat, 24 Sep 2016 17:23:47 -0700

The Miami Dolphins rank 27th in the NFL in rushing, but head coach Adam Gase said he isn't worried about the poor numbers because he believes circumstances have prevented the offense from showcasing its true ability to run the ball.

Dolphins | Jay Ajayi to be part of committee

Fri, 23 Sep 2016 21:46:08 -0700

Miami Dolphins RB Jay Ajayi has been making the most of his carries, according to offensive coordinator Clyde Christensen, but Christensen said Ajayi will be part of a committee against the Cleveland Browns in Week 3.

Fantasy Tip: Ajayi has yet to prove he can produce as a lead back, but he should see plenty of action against a weak Cleveland defense. He is worth using as a flex option in Week 3, and a strong showing would boost his long-term value.

Dolphins | Friday injury report for Miami

Fri, 23 Sep 2016 15:15:13 -0700

Miami Dolphins C Mike Pouncey (hip) was been ruled out for Week 3. CB Xavien Howard (knee), LB Jelani Jenkins (knee), DE Jason Jones (ankle), LB Koa Misi (shoulder) and LB Spencer Paysinger (neck) are listed as questionable. Pouncey and Jones did not participate in practice Friday, Sept. 23. Howard, Jenkins and Paysinger were limited during practice, while Misi fully participated in practice.

Dolphins | DeVante Parker listed as questionable

Fri, 23 Sep 2016 13:40:22 -0700

Miami Dolphins WR DeVante Parker (hamstring) was a limited participant in practice again Friday, Sept. 23, and listed as questionable on the team's injury report in advance of the Dolphins' Week 3 game against the Cleveland Browns.

Fantasy Tip: Despite being limited all week, Parker is expected to get a chance to follow up his stellar season debut in Week 2 against a porous Browns' secondary that could be without Joe Haden. Because Miami has no ground game to speak of, Jarvis Landry and Parker could be in for huge days if everything plays out true to form in Week 3.

Dolphins | Arian Foster ruled out

Fri, 23 Sep 2016 13:22:14 -0700

Miami Dolphins RB Arian Foster (groin) will not play Week 3 versus the Cleveland Browns due to a groin strain.

Fantasy Tip: Given Foster's injury history, this was the expected outcome. The 30-year-old should be considered week-to-week at this point, although it's not as if he was getting much done on the ground anyway (16 carries for 47 yards). Head coach Adam Gase said Friday he doesn't know which running back will start in Foster's place, meaning not even Jay Ajayi can be considered a flex option in what should be a plus-matchup.

Dolphins | DeVante Parker limited in practice

Thu, 22 Sep 2016 17:59:55 -0700

Miami Dolphins WR DeVante Parker (hamstring) remained a limited participant in practice Thursday, Sept. 22.

Fantasy Tip: Parker has been productive when he has managed to play, and if he suits up in Week 3, he has WR2 upside against a shaky Cleveland defense.

Dolphins | Arian Foster misses practice

Thu, 22 Sep 2016 12:16:53 -0700

Miami Dolphins RB Arian Foster (groin) did not participate in practice Thursday, Sept. 22. Head coach Adam Gase said the team is trying to figure out the severity of Foster's injury.

Fantasy Tip: Foster probably will not play in Week 3 and could miss more time depending on the injury. Jay Ajayi and Kenyan Drake will share snaps if Foster misses the game with Ajayi likely to receive most of the carries. Ajayi could be a low-end No. 2 running back or a flex option in most leagues, while Drake may not be a great fantasy option.

Dolphins | DeVante Parker limited in practice

Wed, 21 Sep 2016 13:44:32 -0700

Miami Dolphins WR DeVante Parker (hamstring) was limited in practice Wednesday, Sept. 21.

Fantasy Tip: Dating back to last season, Parker has 30 receptions, 551 yards and three touchdowns through his past seven games. He's had some trouble staying on the field because of nagging injuries, but his fantasy upside is huge. The arrow is pointing straight up, and as long as Parker is active against the lowly Cleveland Browns in Week 3, he's worth starting

Dolphins | Arian Foster not expected to play

Wed, 21 Sep 2016 11:22:14 -0700

Miami Dolphins RB Arian Foster (groin) is not participating in practice Wednesday, Sept. 21, and appears to be a long shot to play in Week 3. He may have a chance to play in Week 4.

Fantasy Tip: Owners should monitor the situation during the week to see if Foster has any chance to play this week. Jay Ajayi and Kenyan Drake would receive more playing time if Foster is inactive with Ajayi likely to receive a majority of the work. Ajayi should be considered a low-end No. 2 running back or a flex option.

Dolphins | Miami optimistic about Arian Foster

Tue, 20 Sep 2016 16:37:18 -0700

The Miami Dolphins are "cautiously optimistic" regarding RB Arian Foster (groin). He has not yet been ruled out for Week 3. His status may not be better determined until later in the week, however.

Fantasy Tip: If Foster can't take the field against the Cleveland Browns on Sunday then Jay Ajayi and Kenyan Drake would be the primary beneficiaries in his stead. If Foster is out, Ajayi wouldn't be a bad start as a low-end RB2 or high-end RB3 against a lowly Cleveland defense.

Dolphins | Arian Foster has strained groin

Tue, 20 Sep 2016 11:57:55 -0700

Miami Dolphins RB Arian Foster (groin) is dealing with a groin strain and his status for Week 3 is in question. He is not expected to miss more than one to two games.

Fantasy Tip: Don't be surprised if Foster sits this weekend. If he does, Jay Ajayi then takes the start in Miami's backfield, with Kenyan Drake also in the mix. Ajayi could achieve RB2 numbers in a favorable matchup against the Cleveland Browns, but it might be safer to start him as a flex.

Dolphins | Arian Foster day-to-day

Mon, 19 Sep 2016 11:53:37 -0700

Miami Dolphins RB Arian Foster (groin) is considered day-to-day with a groin injury, according to head coach Adam Gase. Gase said he is unsure if Foster will practice Wednesday, Sept. 21.

Fantasy Tip: Jay Ajayi and Kenyan Drake would take over Miami's backfield if Foster is unable to play this weekend. Close attention should be paid to Foster's practice participation throughout the week. Ajayi would be a decent flex start against a bad Cleveland Browns defense if Foster is ruled out.

Dolphins | Arian Foster to have MRI

Mon, 19 Sep 2016 05:18:23 -0700

Miami Dolphins RB Arian Foster (groin) will have an MRI on his injured groin Monday, Sept. 19, but the team is concerned he'll miss at least Week 3.

Fantasy Tip: Jay Ajayi and Kenyan Drake figure to see the most action in Foster's absence. Ajayi is probably owned in most leagues, but Drake had a seven-yard score in Week 2, which lends confidence for a pickup.
