Dolphins | Jay Cutler has mixed results in Week 3

Sun, 24 Sep 2017 14:01:30 -0700

Miami Dolphins QB Jay Cutler threw 26-of-44 for 220 yards with one touchdown and one interception in a 20-6 loss to the New York Jets on Sunday, Sept. 24.

Fantasy Tip: Cutler was ineffective against a team you would think he could feast on. It was a week full of surprises, and this was one of them. Cutler took a bit of a hit with this performance in terms of his rating. He's still a low-end QB1 or high-end QB2 that can turn around in Week 4 against the New Orleans Saints.

Dolphins | Jarvis Landry likely to play

Sun, 24 Sep 2017 06:41:47 -0700

Miami Dolphins WR Jarvis Landry (knee) is expected to play in Week 3's game against the New York Jets.

Fantasy Tip: Landry was listed as questionable on the injury report and practiced in full Friday, Sept. 22, after being a limited practice participant Thursday, Sept. 21. He has a favorable matchup this afternoon and should be considered a low-end WR2 or high-end WR3 in all fantasy formats.

Dolphins | Jay Ajayi 'feeling good'

Sat, 23 Sep 2017 09:21:22 -0700

Miami Dolphins RB Jay Ajayi (knee) missed two practices this week with a knee injury but told reporters he was "feeling good" despite being listed as questionable on the official Week 3 injury report.

Fantasy Tip: Ajayi logged 28 carries and 30 total touches in Week 2. The fact he was able to get a full practice and Friday bodes well for him being able to handle a full workload against the New York Jets. Given the competition and Miami's desire to keep Ajayi around all season, don't be surprised if head coach Adam Gase works in Damien Williams and Kenyan Drake a bit more this week than he did in Week 2. Owners should still consider Ajayi a surefire RB1 this week, however.

Fri, 22 Sep 2017 12:12:35 -0700

Miami Dolphins WR DeVante Parker (ankle) fully participated in practice Friday, Sept. 22, but is listed as questionable for Week 3.

Dolphins | Jarvis Landry questionable

Fri, 22 Sep 2017 12:08:38 -0700

Miami Dolphins WR Jarvis Landry (knee) fully participated in practice Friday, Sept. 22, but is listed as questionable for Week 3.

Fantasy Tip: Landry was able to play with the injury last week and should be active again in Week 3. He was targeted often in Week 2 and should be used as a possession receiver again against the New York Jets. He should be considered a No. 3 receiver in point-per-reception leagues and can be a No. 3 receiver or flex option in standard leagues.

Dolphins | Questionable tag for Jay Ajayi

Fri, 22 Sep 2017 12:07:49 -0700

Miami Dolphins RB Jay Ajayi (knee) fully participated in practice Friday, Sept. 22, but is listed as questionable for Week 3.

Fantasy Tip: Ajayi may not be fully healthy but likely will be in uniform against the New York Jets. He is coming off a terrific Week 2 performance and should receive a lot of carries this week. He can be considered a No. 1 running back in all fantasy leagues.

Dolphins | Jay Ajayi a question mark?

Fri, 22 Sep 2017 11:23:48 -0700

Miami Dolphins RB Jay Ajayi (knee) was back at practice Friday, Sept. 22, after sitting out the previous two days with a knee injury. Although he is expected to play in Week 3 against the New York Jets, Ajayi had a black sleeve on his right leg and "seemed to have a slight hitch when running," according to the Miami Herald's Adam Beasley.

Fantasy Tip: Ajayi famously fell in the 2015 NFL Draft due to concerns over the cartilage in his knee, so owners always need to be on a bit of high alert when it comes to leg "issues" with him. For now, Ajayi should be considered a RB1 in fantasy. With that said, his owners would be wise to make room for Damien Williams, who is less injury-prone than fellow backup Kenyan Drake and better suited to hold up long-term should Ajayi be forced to miss time.

Dolphins | Jay Ajayi will be taken care of

Thu, 21 Sep 2017 20:40:58 -0700

Miami Dolphins RB Jay Ajayi is a "hard guy to take out of the game," according to head coach Adam Gase, but Gase said Ajayi wil be rested when needed during the week to make sure he is ready for the next game.

Fantasy Tip: While Ajayi won't receive 28 carries every week, it sounds like Miami will try to limit his workload during practice rather than during games. He is a high-end RB1 heading into a Week 3 matchup against a Jets defense that has been gashed by the run this year.
