Updating a previous report, Kansas City Chiefs RB Jamaal Charles (ankle) took part in the early portion of practice open to the media Thursday, Sept. 18, and his availability in Week 3 against the Miami Dolphins is unknown. He went through warm-ups and was then tended to by a trainer before joining the running back drills. Charles did a drill that involved cutting through cones to catch a pass, and he didn't appear to have any problems.
Fantasy Tip: Whether Charles returns this week will depend on his pain tolerance and how much swelling is in his ankle. We wouldn't advise adding Charles to your daily game lineups this weekend. Knile Davis ($5,700 at FantasyScore) is a wise investment against the Miami Dolphins.

Fantasy Tip: While Charles being on the practice field today is a good sign for Sunday, his FantasyScore price of $8,400 (16.80% of cap) is likely more than you should spend on a player who suffered a high-ankle sprain a week ago. Look elsewhere in Week 3.

Fantasy Tip: While the injury should not slow him down, Bowe will cost you $5,500 (11.0% of cap) in FantasyScore. There are probably better ways to spend that cap space in Week 3.

Kansas City Chiefs DB Husain Abdullah (foot, quadriceps), RB Cyrus Gray (foot), WR Frankie Hammond (shoulder), WR Junior Hemingway (hip), OL Eric Kush (shoulder), LB Josh Martin (quadriceps, triceps) and WR Albert Wilson (ankle) all fully participated in practice Wednesday, Sept. 17. LB Tamba Hali (ankle, knee) and RB De'Anthony Thomas (hamstring) were both limited in practice. S Eric Berry (ankle) did not practice.

Fantasy Tip: Charles' status for Week 3 is not known at this point, so owners should continue to monitor his practice participation during the week. Knile Davis would be a solid option for starting lineups this week if Charles misses the game. Davis costs $5,700 on FantasyScore this week.

Fantasy Tip: High ankle sprains generally cost players multiple weeks. Charles ($8,400; 16.8% of your cap) should be avoided on FantasyScore this week even if he plays. Knile Davis is expected to take over in Charles' role and makes a great RB3 ($5,700; 11.4%) this week.

Fantasy Tip: There is no timetable for Charles at this point, but Charles likely will miss at least one game. Knile Davis was solid in relief Week 2 and could be a good option for owners on FantasyScore this upcoming week if Charles misses the game.

Fantasy Tip: His status for Week 3 is unknown, but Knile Davis is a good player to target for now.
