Kansas City Chiefs LB Dee Ford remains a work in progress on defense, after he was fooled badly on a rushing play in Week 5 against the San Francisco 49ers. The team isn't questioning Ford's character or toughness, but he's still learning what it takes to play outside linebacker in his first season in the NFL after spending all of his college years as a defensive end. Ford has just 32 of 318 possible snaps in the first five games, primarily as a pass rusher in obvious passing situations on third down. Ford doesn't have a tackle yet this year, but he has recorded a quarterback hit and a hurry. Ford also hasn't made much of a contribution on special teams.
