Jaguars | Gary Barnidge to work out for Jacksonville

Wed, 19 Jul 2017 10:27:01 -0700

Free-agent TE Gary Barnidge (Browns) is scheduled to visit and work out for the Jacksonville Jaguars on Tuesday, July 25, according to a league source.

Fantasy Tip: The Jaguars didn't exactly use Julius Thomas to his fullest potential during his brief stay in Jacksonville, so it's hard to say the fit here would be great for his potential fantasy owners. With that said, Barnidge wouldn't have much in the way of competition, as Marcedes Lewis and Mychal Rivera are the most recognizable names on the roster. Nevertheless, Barnidge would do well to serve as a fantasy TE2 as a Jaguar.

Jaguars | Allen Hurns to have major role?

Sun, 16 Jul 2017 18:53:35 -0700

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Allen Hurns is one of Jacksonville's most consistent receivers, according to John Oehser of Jaguars.com, and Oehser believes Hurns will be a "big factor" in the passing game this season.

Fantasy Tip: Hurns was one of the biggest busts in fantasy circles last season, but he had 10 touchdowns just a couple of years ago. He should still be the No. 2 or No. 3 option in the passing game, and Hurns is worth taking a chance on as a WR5.

Jaguars | Allen Robinson struggled near end zone

Thu, 13 Jul 2017 14:07:42 -0700

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Allen Robinson caught just four of his ten targets inside the 10 yard line last season. Fortunately, all four of those catches were touchdowns.

Fantasy Tip: Robinson is the Jaguars' best threat close to the end zone. He was tied for fourth in the NFL in targets inside the 10 yard line; he simply didn't capitalize on the opportunities. Plus, he has somewhat of an errant quarterback in Blake Bortles. Despite a disappointing 2016 campaign, Robinson remains a solid low-end WR1 to high-end WR2 consideration, although he's a more sensible selection in standard formats.

Jaguars | Ben Koyack Jacksonville's best TE?

Thu, 06 Jul 2017 20:01:36 -0700

Jacksonville Jaguars TE Ben Koyack's reliability as a blocker and upside as a receiver gives him a chance to breakout this year as the offense moves away from two-tight end sets, according to Mike Kaye of FirstCoastNews.com.

Jaguars | Marqise Lee could be No. 2 receiver

Thu, 06 Jul 2017 19:44:55 -0700

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Marqise Lee will likely be given the opportunity to win the No. 2 receiver job because of his big-play ability, according to Mike Kaye of FirstCoastNews.com.

Fantasy Tip: Lee enjoyed a bit of a breakout season last year, and if he opens the year with a prominent role in the passing attack, WR3 production isn't out of the question.

Jaguars | Big season for Leonard Fournette?

Sun, 02 Jul 2017 20:20:38 -0700

Jacksonville Jaguars RB Leonard Fournette should set his goals at 275 carries, 1,200 rushing yards and 11 touchdowns this season, according to Ryan O'Halloran of the Florida Times-Union.

Fantasy Tip: Fournette should see plenty of carries this season, and if the Jaguars can actually carry the lead late in games, a 1,200-yard season isnít out of the question. Grab him as a high-end RB2.

Jaguars | Blake Bortles struggles with turnovers

Wed, 21 Jun 2017 11:35:45 -0700

Jacksonville Jaguars QB Blake Bortles has committed 63 turnovers over the last three seasons, which is the most in the NFL. His 51 interceptions during that span ranks second among quarterbacks.

Fantasy Tip: Bortles has thrown at least 16 interceptions in all three seasons since joining the NFL but has also thrown 58 touchdowns over the last two seasons. Bortles is a risky option for owners because of his turnovers and probably should be considered a No. 2 quarterback in fantasy leagues.

Jaguars | Allen Hurns may be used in slot

Sun, 18 Jun 2017 13:16:04 -0700

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Allen Hurns likely will line up as a slot receiver in 2017, in the opinion of the Florida Times-Union's Ryan O'Halloran.

Fantasy Tip: Hurns is coming off a disappointing 2016 season where he missed five games and posted only 477 yards and three touchdowns. Hurns should have a solid role in the passing game if he is healthy this season and could be considered a No. 5 receiver in some fantasy leagues.
