Jaguars | T.J. Yeldon a three-down back?

Fri, 01 May 2015 21:35:20 -0700

Jacksonville Jaguars RB T.J. Yeldon is viewed as a three-down back, general manager David Caldwell said Friday, May 1.

Fantasy Tip: By selecting Yeldon early in the second round, Denard Robinson's chances of being a lead back have seemingly vanished. Meanwhile, Yeldon becomes the top fantasy option in Jacksonville's backfield, and he could be worthy of using as a flex option by the end of his rookie year.

Jaguars | T.J. Yeldon selected 36th overall

Fri, 01 May 2015 16:25:57 -0700

Alabama RB T.J. Yeldon was selected 36th overall by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the second round of the 2015 NFL Draft Friday, May 1.

Fantasy Tip: Yeldon enters a messy backfield situation in Jacksonville. He was very productive in college and has excellent lateral ability on the gridiron. He'll compete for touches in his rookie season with Toby Gerhart and Denard Robinson, and he could be a sleeper fantasy pick very late in drafts.

Jaguars | Justin Blackmon likely done in JAX

Fri, 24 Apr 2015 09:34:18 -0700

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Justin Blackmon is likely done with the Jaguars if he's reinstated into the league, in the opinion of beat writer Ryan O'Halloran.

Fantasy Tip: Blackmon was an elite receiver prospect coming out of college, but he has missed the better part of two years. If he makes it back into the league, he's still just 25 and worth a late-round flyer in drafts.

Jaguars | Amari Cooper may land with JAX

Fri, 24 Apr 2015 08:50:21 -0700

Alabama WR Amari Cooper is a possibility for the Jacksonville Jaguars with the third pick in the 2015 NFL Draft, according to beat writer Ryan O'Halloran.

Fantasy Tip: The Jags swung and missed on two slot receivers in free agency, and O'Halloran thinks Cooper is the team's logical choice. Cooper appears to be ready for the NFL and would make a good WR3 flyer in fantasy.

Jaguars | Blake Bortles worked with QB guru

Tue, 21 Apr 2015 21:54:20 -0700

Jacksonville Jaguars QB Blake Bortles worked with quarterbacks guru Tom House during the offseason. Bortles said Tuesday, April 21, that he spent two months in the offseason in California and was mentored by House. Bortles also spent four days throwing to TE Julius Thomas, WR Marqise Lee, TE Clay Harbor and WR Tony Washington. In addition, Bortles dropped 12 pounds from his the end of last season.

Fantasy Tip: Bortles should be much better from a fantasy perspective in 2015, as he'll have a big weapon in Thomas, and he could have WR Justin Blackmon back, too. In addition, he is in good shape and apparently making huge strides. Still, he is nothing more than a QB2 in most standard leagues at the moment.
