Jaguars | Aaron Colvin not expected back

Wed, 21 Feb 2018 13:35:46 -0800

Jacksonville Jaguars impending free-agent CB Aaron Colvin is not expected to be re-signed as the Jaguars don't anticipate having enough available salary cap space to retain him. Jacksonville only possess $24 million in cap space and Colvin will be one of the best and youngest cornerbacks on the free-agent market.

Jaguars | Allen Robinson likely to be tagged

Mon, 19 Feb 2018 11:25:30 -0800

Updating an ongoing story, Jacksonville Jaguars impending free-agent WR Allen Robinson (knee) is expected to receive the franchise tag, if no long-term deal can be reached.

Fantasy Tip: Robinson is too talented for the blossoming Jaguars to let walk. Provided his knee isn't a problem, consider him as a WR2 in most formats.

Jaguars | Allen Robinson a priority?

Sun, 18 Feb 2018 19:25:47 -0800

Jacksonville Jaguars impending free-agent WR Allen Robinson will likely take precedent over impending free-agent WR Marqise Lee when it comes to contract negotiations, according to Gregg Rosenthal of NFL.com.

Fantasy Tip: Robinson is coming off a knee injury, but while Lee showed some potential last year, Robinson has the much higher ceiling. Wherever Robinson ends up, he will have WR2 potential. Lee is likely a bench option for fantasy owners.

Jaguars | Allen Robinson not worried about knee

Thu, 15 Feb 2018 09:22:46 -0800

Jacksonville Jaguars impending free-agent WR Allen Robinson (knee) doesn't believe the torn anterior cruciate ligament he suffered last season will keep prospective teams from wanting to sign him. Robinson added that every team has seen how good he can be when he's healthy.

Fantasy Tip: Robinson will be at full health when offseason activities commence, if he's not there already. This was the first big injury of Robinson's career. He had averaged 1,141.5 yards and 10 touchdowns over his previous two seasons, so he'll be a hot commodity if the Jaguars don't re-sign him. He'll have WR2 appeal wherever he plays.

Jaguars | Competition for Blake Bortles?

Sun, 11 Feb 2018 19:24:43 -0800

The Jacksonville Jaguars could select a quarterback in the first or second round of the 2018 NFL Draft to provide competition for QB Blake Bortles, according Mike DiRocco of ESPN.com.

Fantasy Tip: Bortles' long-term future with the Jaguars remains in doubt, but he should at least be a quality QB2 in 2018. He has thrown more than 20 touchdowns in each of the last three seasons and has topped 300 rushing yards in all four years in the league.

Jaguars | Chris Ivory looks to be a goner

Wed, 31 Jan 2018 19:47:29 -0800

Jacksonville Jaguars RB Chris Ivory "sure seems like a goner at this point," according to Mike Kaye of FirstCoastNews.com. He added that "dropping Ivory would be nothing short of a formality at this point," even though his contract still has "plenty" of dead money.

Fantasy Tip: Ivory wasn't even active for the Jaguars' last two postseason games, so the writing is pretty much on the wall. Obviously, Leonard Fournette is the main guy in the backfield moving forward, and with younger options in Corey Grant and T.J. Yeldon behind him, it indeed looks like Ivory will be moving on. It remains to be seen if he can be a relevant fantasy option in 2018.

Jaguars | Blake Bortles expected to stay

Tue, 30 Jan 2018 13:22:48 -0800

Jacksonville Jaguars QB Blake Bortles (wrist) is expected to remain with the Jaguars despite recently undergoing surgery on his injured wrist, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Rapoport said the plan all along has been for Bortles to return as starter.

Fantasy Tip: The Jaguars have to be tempted to draft a quarterback in such a deep draft class, but Bortles improved in 2017 and quarterbacked Jacksonville to the AFC Championship. He has his fair share of mistakes, which he cut back on last season, but Bortles is an underrated fantasy quarterback thanks in no small part to his running ability.

Jaguars | Blake Bortles undergoes wrist surgery

Mon, 29 Jan 2018 20:56:01 -0800

Jacksonville Jaguars QB Blake Bortles (wrist) had surgery on his right wrist Friday, Jan. 26, for a condition that had bothered him since December of 2016, according to sources.

Fantasy Tip: As a first-round pick entering his fifth season, the surgery leaves Bortles in even more limbo, as his fifth-year club option is only guaranteed for injury. Bortles' place on the roster was already tenuous given the likelihood of quarterbacks such as Kirk Cousins and Alex Smith expected to be available and the Jaguars' new status as a place potentially available quarterbacks will want to go. At the moment, it's looking like Bortles may not be on the Jacksonville roster when the middle of March rolls around.

Jaguars | Allen Robinson close to full health

Mon, 29 Jan 2018 10:40:40 -0800

Jacksonville Jaguars impending free-agent WR Allen Robinson (knee) said he expects to be 100 percent healthy in the near future. Robinson said he does not know what to expect from the Jaguars in terms of a possible contract offer.

Fantasy Tip: Owners should keep an eye on the situation to see if the Jaguars will try to re-sign Robinson or place the franchise tag on him. He likely would receive a solid amount of interest if he hit the free-agent market. Robinson probably will be a starting receiver for a team in 2018 and can be considered a No. 2 or No. 3 fantasy receiver.

Jaguars | Marqise Lee on his way out?

Wed, 24 Jan 2018 10:48:24 -0800

Jacksonville Jaguars impending free-agent WR Marqise Lee is not expected to be re-signed, in the opinion of Ryan O'Halloran of The Florida Times-Union. Halloran posits that the mostly likely case for Lee being re-signed is if WR Allen Robinson is not retained. Another possibility is that WR Allen Hurns could be released in order to create $7 million more in salary cap space. Lee could also be asked to take a pay cut. However, with WRs Dede Westbrook and Keelan Cole contributing well, Lee may be the odd man out.

Fantasy Tip: Jacksonville possesses good depth at the wide receiver position -- too much depth, in fact. Westbrook and Cole are young, budding wideouts and Robinson is one of the best receivers in the game when he's playing to his full potential. Lee's fantasy value will be better determined when we know where he's playing.
