John Oehser, for Colts.com, reports Indianapolis Colts OL Steve Justice said he is getting more comfortable with playing guard in addition to center for the team. "It's getting more comfortable. I was used to always having the ball in my hands. I was used to playing center, but to have to learn center then guard for me was tough. Then, to be able to switch the play in my head if I was playing right guard, left guard . . . I think in my second year it's coming a lot easier. Now, it's just getting techniques down and remembering it faster," Justice said.

Mike Chappell, of the Indianapolis Star, reports Indianapolis Colts OG Ryan Lilja (knee) has experienced no setbacks during his latest rehabilitation. He's continuing to work at regaining the strength in his right leg and participating in portions of the team's offseason program with an eye on being ready for the start of training camp."I've been getting better for the last three months and that's all I can ask for," Lilja said. "I don't see any reason why I'm going to stop getting better in the next six weeks. Every time we test it, it responds really well. I'm not where I need to be, but hopefully I will be in six weeks."

Mike Chappell, of the Indianapolis Star, reports Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay said the team's rushing offense last season was not good enough and must be improved upon in 2009. The Colts ranked No. 31 in yards per game and No. 32 in yards per attempt. The 3.4 yards-per-attempt average was the fifth lowest in club history. "Our ability to rush the football was completely unacceptable last year,'' Irsay said. "It was more of a miracle that we were able to disguise the problem so much and go so far and do so much with it being such a problem."

ESPN.com reports Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay said Saturday, June 6, that former coaches Tom Moore and Howard Mudd will begin their roles as team consultants Aug. 1, according to the Indianapolis Star. While Moore, the former offensive coordinator, and Mudd, the former offensive line coach, won't work under those titles any more, Irsay said they will perform similar duties. "They're coming back," Irsay said. "They're coming back as consultants and they're going to be involved big time. Jim Caldwell will determine what that will be."

The Associated Press reports Indianapolis Colts WR Anthony Gonzalez (leg) did not practice Sunday, June 7, due to an injured right leg. Gonzalez suffered the injury Saturday, but head coach Jim Caldwell is not giving any details on the injury. Gonzalez stayed on the field after hurting his leg, but spent the remainder of Saturday's practice stretching out. Caldwell said Gonzalez may return to the field Tuesday, June 9, or Wednesday, June 10.

"I'm going to talk to Peyton (Manning)," Freeney said. "One red-zone play, that's all I need. Just one. I want to catch the ball." When told of Freeney's wishes, team president Bill Polian didn't sound too eager to grant those wishes. "I've got two words for that: Lis Franc," Polian said. Technically speaking, it's just one word, but the point is clear. Freeney suffered a Lisfranc injury during 2007 and missed the last part of the season and playoffs.

Larry Kennan, executive director of the NFL Coaches Association, said that Moore and Mudd can return to the Colts as consultants but are not eligible to go back into the pension plan for six months.

The thief, Rodney Terrell Green, struck four parked cars, according to police, before getting out of the totaled car and fleeing on foot. He was caught by Davenport and several witnesses, who held him until police arrived.
