Fri, 20 Oct 2017 14:08:38 -0700

Indianapolis Colts QB Andrew Luck (shoulder), RB Robert Turbin (elbow), LB Anthony Walker Jr. (hamstring) did not participate in practice Friday, Oct. 20, and have been ruled out for Week 7. TE Darrell Daniels (knee), C Ryan Kelly (knee) and FS T.J. Green (hamstring) fully participated in practice but are listed as questionable. RB Frank Gore (non-injury) and LB John Simon (shoulder) fully participated in practice and are not on the injury report.

Colts | Frank Gore on track to play

Fri, 20 Oct 2017 14:04:43 -0700

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore (non-injury) fully participated in practice Friday, Oct. 20, and is not on the injury report for Week 7.

Fantasy Tip: Gore will be sharing work with Marlon Mack this week but should continue to receive a majority of the work. He has posted consistent numbers this season but has not rushed for more than 60 yards in any game and is not a must-start option for owners.

Colts | Robert Turbin lands on IR

Fri, 20 Oct 2017 12:33:23 -0700

Updating a previous report, Indianapolis Colts RB Robert Turbin (elbow) was placed on the Reserved/Injured list Friday, Oct. 20.

Fantasy Tip: It had been reported the Colts were waiting for a second opinion, but apparently the team had a change of heart. Frank Gore and Marlon Mack will get modest bumps in playing time and touches as a result of his absence, although not so much that either one can be recommended as a regular fantasy starter in most leagues.

Colts | Robert Turbin to get second opinion

Fri, 20 Oct 2017 11:31:23 -0700

Indianapolis Colts RB Robert Turbin (arm) is seeking a second opinion on the arm injury he suffered in the team's Week 6 loss to the Tennessee Titans.

Fantasy Tip: It's the most likely reason Turbin has yet to go on the Reserve/Injured list. Either way, he's not a factor in fantasy and figures to miss significant time even if he doesn't land on IR. Frank Gore and Marlon Mack will get modest bumps in playing time and touches as a result of his absence, although not so much that either one can be recommended as a regular fantasy starter in most leagues.

Colts | T.Y. Hilton needs more help from coaches?

Fri, 20 Oct 2017 10:35:37 -0700

Indianapolis Colts WR T.Y. Hilton is "one of the best players the NFL" and coaches need to do a better job using the scheme in order to get him the ball more often, according to head coach Chuck Pagano.

Fantasy Tip: Hilton was held to one catch for 19 yards during Week 6 in a plus-matchup against the Tennessee Titans. This week's opponent, the Jacksonville Jaguars, have shut down just about every passing game they have encountered, so it will be interesting to see if the Colts try to force the issue with Hilton. Given the difficult matchup, Hilton is more of a WR3 this week.

Colts | Frank Gore likes RB combo

Thu, 19 Oct 2017 19:05:52 -0700

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore said he and RB Marlon Mack complement each other well because they are "different kinds of backs."

Fantasy Tip: The Colts face a leaky Jacksonville Jaguars run defense in Week 7, but Gore and Mack are merely flex candidates. Gore has the safer floor, but Mack is the upside play and the better long-term prospect.

Colts | Frank Gore receives day off

Thu, 19 Oct 2017 14:22:03 -0700

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore (non-injury) did not participate in practice Thursday, Oct. 19.

Fantasy Tip: Gore will continue to be the starting running back for the Colts but could lose some work to Marlon Mack later in the season. He has received at least 10 carries in every game this season but 57 yards is the most he has rushed for in a game this season. He can be benched this week if owners have better options available.

Thu, 19 Oct 2017 13:13:40 -0700

Colts | More touches for Marlon Mack

Thu, 19 Oct 2017 10:19:17 -0700

Indianapolis Colts RB Marlon Mack will be given more opportunities due to the loss of RB Robert Turbin (elbow), according to offensive coordinator Rob Chudzinski. Chudzinski specifically noted the two-minute drill as a time when the Colts need to give Mack the ball.

Fantasy Tip: Mack should have been seeing more touches anyway, but Turbin's unfortunate demise has forced Indy's hand. Mack is arguably the Colts' best playmaker on offense not named T.Y. Hilton. Look for him to be more involved in the passing game, too.

Colts | Andrew Luck could miss rest of season

Wed, 18 Oct 2017 17:49:04 -0700

Updating a previous report, Indianapolis Colts QB Andrew Luck (shoulder) potentially missing the rest of the season wouldn't be a surprise, according to Zak Keefer of the Indianapolis Star, "based on what we heard (Wednesday, Oct. 18)."

Fantasy Tip: Those who drafted the former No. 1 overall pick as their fantasy quarterback this season had to expect a lengthy absence, but certainly not one that would sideline Luck for the entire year. It's a tough break, but that's the baggage that can come with drafting someone that is already severely injured. Jacoby Brissett has looked mostly serviceable in his absence, though he's more of an option for deeper leagues.

Colts | Andrew Luck regresses in recovery

Wed, 18 Oct 2017 13:43:58 -0700

Indianapolis Colts QB Andrew Luck (shoulder) has developed soreness in his surgically repaired shoulder. He was given a cortisone shot and will rest this week. There is no timetable for his return.

Fantasy Tip: Not too sound too poetic, but UGH. The frustrations with Luck and his long-awaited return will not cease. The good news is that Luck's replacement, Jacoby Brissett, has held his own as the Colts' starter. That being said, Brissett should only be started in quality matchups and/or as a bye-week replacement.
