Texans | Alfred Blue unlikely to play

Sun, 24 Sep 2017 06:26:48 -0700

Houston Texans RB Alfred Blue (ankle) is unlikely to play in Week 3's game against the New England Patriots, according to a source.

Fantasy Tip: Blue was listed as questionable on the injury report and was a limited practice participant throughout the week. It was revealed a few days ago that once Blue returns to action, his primary role will be on special teams, so he possesses little fantasy value in any format. Lamar Miller and D'Onta Foreman will see the bulk of the carries versus the Patriots.

Texans | No hiding DeAndre Hopkins

Fri, 22 Sep 2017 21:54:30 -0700

Houston Texans WR DeAndre Hopkins has been facing double-teams all season because "everyone in the league knows we're going to throw the ball to Hopkins," head coach Bill O'Brien said.

Fantasy Tip: Hopkins has had trouble breaking loose for big plays, but with 29 targets and 14 receptions through two games, he can still be deployed as a WR2 against the Patriots in Week 3.

Texans | Chemistry growing for DeAndre Hopkins

Thu, 21 Sep 2017 18:55:53 -0700

Houston Texans WR DeAndre Hopkins said the chemistry between he and QB Deshaun Watson is improving every day. "We're growing, we're getting to know each other, and it's getting better, I can say," Hopkins said.

Fantasy Tip: In their first full game together, Watson targeted Hopkins 13 times. The big plays haven't been there, but the huge workload should make him a low-end WR2, especially in PPR formats, against the Patriots in Week 3.

Texans | Will Fuller ruled out for Week 3

Wed, 20 Sep 2017 16:28:24 -0700

Houston Texans WR Will Fuller (shoulder) has been ruled out for Week 3 against the New England Patriots.

Fantasy Tip: Head coach Bill O'Brien made the announcement Wednesday, despite Fuller's return to the practice field, and added that the second-year receiver "will be available soon." Fuller had some glimpses of brilliance in 2016, and can be a fantasy asset when healthy.

Texans | Ryan Griffin cleared

Wed, 20 Sep 2017 10:53:58 -0700

Houston Texans TE Ryan Griffin (concussion) is no longer in the league's concussion protocol.

Fantasy Tip: With C.J. Fedorowicz on the Reserve/Injured list, Griffin will start and should be able to provide the Texans with another much-needed weapon in the passing game, although it is doubtful he will be of much use to fantasy owners against the New England Patriots this week. Consider him a low-end TE2 for now.

Texans | Deshaun Watson has rough framing for NE matchup

Wed, 20 Sep 2017 07:22:15 -0700

Houston Texans QB Deshaun Watson has a tough matchup against the New England Patriots in Week 3 based on historical data. No rookie quarterback has won in New England since head coach Bill Belichick was hired in 2000. They are 0-8 with five touchdowns, 16 interceptions and a 50.7 passer rating.

Fantasy Tip: Watson is only an option in dynasty leagues or in leagues where you must start two quarterbacks. However, this week isn't a strong matchup.

Texans | DeAndre Hopkins leading NFL in targets

Tue, 19 Sep 2017 19:31:07 -0700

Houston Texans WR DeAndre Hopkins has 29 targets through Week 2, making him easily the most targeted receiver in the league through two games.

Fantasy Tip: To give you some sense of how much the Texans are relying on him, 24 of rookie quarterback Deshaun Watson's 47 pass attempts in six quarters of action have been thrown in direction of Hopkins. The fifth-year wideout has responded with seven receptions in each of his first two games but is averaging only 9.1 yards per catch. Life won't get any easier in Week 3 when the New England Patriots will almost certainly force Watson to rely on his other receivers. Nevertheless, Hopkins is a solid WR2 in fantasy.
