The Houston Texans are unlikely to use the franchise tag in 2017, according to Aaron Wilson, of the Houston Chronicle. Houston has approximately $25 million in projected salary cap space, which limits the ability to use the franchise tag.

The Texans are expected to have around $25 million in salary cap space available, but Bouye would be scheduled to receive a little more than $14 million in 2017 if he received the franchise tag.
