Texans | Duane Brown here to stay

Mon, 23 Oct 2017 07:05:41 -0700

Updating an earlier report, Houston Texans OT Duane Brown is unlikely to be traded, and he'll be available to play for the final 10 games.

Fantasy Tip: Brown's return only improves rookie sensation Deshaun Watson's fantasy potential the rest of the way. He is the highest-scoring quarterback over the last five weeks. He'll be a midrange QB1 option against the Seattle Seahawks next week.

Texans | Deshaun Watson tied for rookie history

Wed, 18 Oct 2017 18:53:38 -0700

Houston Texans QB Deshaun Watson is tied with retired QBs Kurt Warner and Mark Rypien for most touchdown passes (15) in a player's first six games of their career.

Fantasy Tip: What makes that even more remarkable is that Watson didn't even begin the season as the starter. He quickly dethroned Tom Savage for the job, however, and hasn't looked back since. The former Clemson standout has been especially terrific as of late, tossing 12 touchdowns in his last three games alone, compared to just two interceptions. He's also been a force on the ground, tallying more than 20 rushing yards in each of his last five contests. Watson has established himself as a legit QB1 for the time being as a result.

Texans | Ryan Griffin posts 52 yards

Sun, 15 Oct 2017 14:46:36 -0700

Houston Texans TE Ryan Griffin hauled in three receptions for 52 yards on a game-high eight targets in Week 6 against the Cleveland Browns.

Fantasy Tip: DeShaun Watson certainly looked for Griffin early and often, but they had just three connections. It was his highest production since he had a season-high 61 yards and a score in Week 3 against the Patriots. He remains more of a bye-week replacement option than a fantasy regular. Houston is off in Week 7, though.

Texans | DeAndre Hopkins scores in win

Sun, 15 Oct 2017 14:46:06 -0700

Houston Texans WR DeAndre Hopkins posted two receptions for 19 yards and a touchdown in Week 6 against the Cleveland Browns.

Fantasy Tip: The touchdown was nice but the yardage total was not something fantasy owners can be terribly pleased about. Nuke has five total touchdowns over his first three games, as he and Will Fuller have co-existed. However, Hopkins was the loser this week in terms of receiving yardage. His 9.5 yards per grab were his lowest since Week 1. The Texans are off in Week 7 for their bye.

Texans | Will Fuller shines again in victory

Sun, 15 Oct 2017 14:45:31 -0700

Houston Texans WR Will Fuller posted two grabs for a game-high 62 yards and a touchdown on five targets in Week 6 against the Cleveland Browns.

Fantasy Tip: The Texans didn't have to pass much in the second half with the game out of hand, but Fuller made yet another scoring connection with DeShaun Watson. That's five scores in three games since Fuller returned from injury, as he has outshined DeAndre Hopkins and emerged as a legitimate WR2 in all fantasy leagues. However, he and the Texans are off for the bye in Week 7.

Texans | Lamar Miller quiet in Week 6

Sun, 15 Oct 2017 14:45:05 -0700

Houston Texans RB Lamar Miller rushed 15 times for 41 yards in Week 6 against the Cleveland Browns while adding three receptions for 40 yards on four targets.

Fantasy Tip: The total yardage was nice, but he had just 2.7 yards per rush to 4.9 yards per tote for D'Onta Foreman. Miller was used slightly less in the second half with the game out of hand, too. The team is off in Week 7 for its bye.

Texans | D'Onta Foreman leads the way

Sun, 15 Oct 2017 14:44:38 -0700

Houston Texans RB D'Onta Foreman rushed 12 times for a team-high 59 yards in Week 6 against the Cleveland Browns.

Fantasy Tip: Foreman is normally the hammer and complement to the more elusive Lamar Miller, but he averaged 4.9 yards per carry to Miller's 2.7 in this one, so he was featured more. Foreman also saw more work in the second half with the game out of hand, too. He is expected to remain second fiddle to Miller, but we'll have to wait until Week 8 to see how the situation continues to unfold, as the Texans have a bye next week.

Texans | DeShaun Watson tosses three more TDs

Sun, 15 Oct 2017 14:44:05 -0700

Houston Texans QB DeShaun Watson completed 17 of his 29 pass attempts for 225 yards, three touchdowns and an interception in Week 6 against the Cleveland Browns. He also rushed six times for 23 yards.

Fantasy Tip: The rookie has been one of the best fantasy quarterbacks over the past three games, if not the best. While he has just one 300-yard game this season back in Week 3 in New England, Watson has thrown for 12 touchdowns with just two interceptions over the past three outings while also finding the end zone once with his feet. In fact, he is the first rookie in NFL history to throw for three straight three-TD games. Fantasy owners will need to make alternate plans in Week 7, as the Texans have their bye week.
