Updating previous reports, Green Bay Packers impending free-agent RB Eddie Lacy (ankle) had extensive surgery to repair a ligament in his ankle in October, he confirmed in a podcast with ESPN's Adam Schefter. "I messed up my deltoid and widened the bone on my ankle, so I had to get two screws, two wires and a plate to fix it because I messed up my deltoid ligament," Lacy said. "That's the longest thing to heal. My healing process is 4-6 months, on the 26th (of February) it (was) the fourth month," Lacy also said the Packers have been vocal about bringing him back.
Fantasy Tip: Lacy could still see some run with the Packers if he comes back in shape. However, it's tough to count on him as anything more than an RB3 in fantasy.

The Green Bay Packers are interested in bringing back impending free-agent OT JC Tretter but the team might not be able to afford him. If another club offers him a starting job, Green Bay is unlikely to match the offer.

Green Bay Packers RB Eddie Lacy (ankle) ran publicly for the first time -- albeit in a pool during a rehab session at the University of Alabama -- since having ankle surgery a few months ago Thursday, Feb. 23.
Fantasy Tip: It looks like Lacy's injury that cost him 11 games of the 2016 season won't affect his status going into training camp. However, it remains to be seen where he'll end up, as the Packers may let him go into free agency. Lacy proved he can still be an effective starting running back, as he was averaging a career-high 5.1 yards per carry prior to going down with his ankle issue. His potential new situation will dictate where he should go in drafts next season.

Green Bay Packers OG T.J. Lang (foot, hip) is still recovering from a pair of injuries that he sustained during this past season -- a broken left foot that he reinjured in the team's NFC Championship Game loss to the Atlanta Falcons, and hip surgery that he had on Jan. 30. He remains on crutches following the latter procedure.

Fantasy Tip: Cook could re-sign with the Packers this offseason but probably would receive interest from multiple teams if he hits the free-agent market. He was limited to 10 games in 2016 because of an injury but still finished the season with 377 yards and one touchdown. He could be a low-end No. 1 fantasy tight end if he re-signs with the Packers but may be a better No. 2 tight end in leagues.

Fantasy Tip: Weight issues and injuries have plagued Lacy in recent years, and despite some upside, he has become tough for fantasy owners to trust. Don't count on him being more than a flex option in 2017.

Impending free-agent RB Eddie Lacy is expected to get a one-year deal worth about $2 million was plenty of incentives in free agency this offseason, according to the Green Bay Press-Gazette's Pete Dougherty.
Fantasy Tip: Dougherty received this information from an agent who has a client in the free-agent running back market, and it stands to reason. Lacy is a talented player, but weight struggles in each of the last two years has made it hard for the Green Bay Packers to trust him. It's hard to imagine Lacy landing a big contract anywhere else right now, so his best bet is probably to return to Green Bay on a prove-it deal. He'll be hard to trust as anything more than a flex option in fantasy, however.

Fantasy Tip: Adams still has the occasional drop, but he proved to be a valuable weapon for the passing attack, especially in the red zone. At worst, he should be a high-end WR3 in 2017.

Fantasy Tip: Cobb's numbers have fallen two years in a row. Granted, he has battled through injuries both seasons. The Packers have a couple of options developing at the position, and Davante Adams is in his walk year. Cobb will be a WR3 option with upside in fantasy in what will be a year he needs to make a statement.
