Fantasy Tip: Washington is battling for a final roster spot and could crack the roster because of his ability in the return game. Remember, he scored a 96-yard kickoff return during the preseason opener. For now, he's nothing more than a player to watch in deeper fantasy leagues, though.

Fantasy Tip: Tate's mystery injury isn't a big deal, apparently. He should be good to go for this weekend and is still in the WR2 conversation in all formats with Calvin Johnson out of the picture.

Fantasy Tip: Ebron is a breakout candidate that figures to be a big cog in an offense that took off under Jim Bob Cooter late last season. Ebron is a midrange TE1 with upside.

Detroit Lions C Graham Glasgow (foot) did not practice Saturday, Aug. 20, and his left foot was in a protective boot. Head coach Jim Caldwell said it remains to be seen how much time Glasgow will miss.

Detroit Lions WR Golden Tate (undisclosed) did not practice Saturday, Aug. 20. He wouldn't mention the specifics of his injury, but he talked about playing in the preseason game against the Baltimore Ravens Saturday, Aug. 27.
Fantasy Tip: Tate is set to be Detroit's top receiver in the wake of Calvin Johnson's retirement. He is a borderline WR2 in PPR formats and a solid WR3 in standard leagues.

Fantasy Tip: Ebron is still not practicing, but he was reportedly spotted jogging and caught passes from a JUGS machine Sunday. Birkett also tweeted it was the first time he'd seen the third-year tight end run since he first suffered his ankle injury on Aug. 6. Given his injury history and the plethora of pass-catching weapons Detroit has at the moment, Ebron should probably be considered a high-upside TE2.

Fantasy Tip: It is a positive development for the Lions' starting running back, although Detroit figures to utilize a committee backfield as much as any team in the league this season. This news suggests he could be ready to play as soon as next week's dress rehearsal game in Baltimore against the Ravens and makes it all but certain he'll be ready for Week 1. In fantasy, he's a midrange RB3.

Fantasy Tip: Ridley appears to be at least fourth on the depth chart at this point and has only played in the second half in the first two preseason games. He will not have much fantasy value if he stays with the Lions.

Fantasy Tip: Riddick will have a solid role on offense even when Abdullah will be able to play again. He should be a valuable option for owners in point-per-reception leagues since he caught 80 passes last season. He could be a weekly flex option in PPR leagues and a No. 3 or No. 4 running back in standard leagues.

Fantasy Tip: Stafford played well once Jim Bob Cooter became the offensive coordinator last season and should continue to improve this season. He did lose Calvin Johnson during the offseason but still has several weapons to work with in the passing game. Stafford probably should be a high-end No. 2 quarterback in most leagues but could be used as a starter against certain opponents.

Fantasy Tip: Jones continues to thrive in his first year in Detroit, and he has enough upside to grab in the middle rounds as a WR3.
