Detroit Lions WR T.J. Jones (hands) has gradually progressed from nerve damage that affected his hands. The nerve issues have essentially been settled and catching is no longer an issue for him, however. Jones could see a larger role in Detroit's offense next season with the expected retirement of WR Calvin Johnson.

Detroit Lions WR Calvin Johnson's body and injuries are the main reason he is contemplating retirement, according to WR teammate Golden Tate. "But his body just isn't holding up. With his body type, and how he plays the game, he plays at a high level all the time for a bunch of years," Tate said. Johnson needed weekly knee drains in 2013 in order to play, and he missed three games and was used as a decoy in two other games with a high ankle sprain in 2014. Johnson also battled ankle injuries this year.
Fantasy Tip: Injuries in recent seasons have taken a large toll on Megatron and his production for fantasy owners. He was a big disappointment this year because of it. If he does return in 2016, which is looking unlikely, he's no longer a lock for a first-round pick, and he should be seen as more of a low-end No. 1 wideout.

Detroit Lions TE Eric Ebron needs to change up his routine in order to reach his potential, according to retired TE Tony Gonzalez. "Whatever he's doing, is not helping him be the best," Gonzalez said. "If he could figure out a routine that would help him get to where he should be, then he'll be on his way. But a lot of guys don't do that; they don't figure it out."
Fantasy Tip: Ebron has been inconsistent up to this point, but he has the physical gifts to be a top fantasy option at his position. If you wait until later in your draft to grab a tight end, gambling on Ebron's upside could pay dividends.

Fantasy Tip: If the Lions can convince Johnson to return in 2016, he should have no problem providing solid WR2 production.

The Detroit Lions continued shaking up their front office by firing longtime vice president of pro personnel Sheldon White on Thursday, Feb. 4. White joins former college scouting director Scott McEwen and senior personnel executive Cedric Saunders as high-ranking officers that have been relieved of their duties under new general manager Bob Quinn.

Fantasy Tip: If Megatron decides to return, he'll be a high-end WR2 in fantasy.

Fantasy Tip: Ebron occasionally lined up outside, and he might see more of that role if Megatron is on the golf course or beach in 2016. Ebron could be a Top 10 fantasy option at his position in 2016.

Notre Dame WR Will Fuller has good speed and runs a nice route tree, but his hands might be an issue. The team might be looking for a receiver if WR Calvin Johnson elects to retire, and Fuller is likely to still be there at No. 16 in the first round when the Lions select in the 2016 NFL Draft.
Fantasy Tip: Fuller posted back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons with the Irish, and he is likely more like Golden Tate than Megatron. That's not half-bad, but picking him in the middle of the first round is likely a bit of a stretch.

Mississippi WR Laquon Treadwell might be on the wish list of the Detroit Lions, although it's unlikely he'll be available at No. 16 when the team selects in the first round of the 2016 NFL Draft. He posted 1,153 yards in 2015, and he could provide a long-term replacement for WR Calvin Johnson due to his size and speed.
Fantasy Tip: Treadwell suffered a gruesome broken fibula and dislocated ankle at the goal line against Auburn in 2014, but he bounced back with a strong performance at Ole Miss in 2015 to set himself up nicely for a huge pay day.

Chicago Bears impending free-agent WR Alshon Jeffery is tops on the wish list of the Detroit Lions if WR Calvin Johnson elects to retire. However, the Bears could use the franchise tag or sign Jeffery to an extension before he reaches free agency, so Jeffery to the Lions is considered a long shot.
Fantasy Tip: Jeffery has struggled with injuries in his career, but he has 252 catches, 3,728 yards and 24 touchdowns in his first four NFL seasons. He is a fantasy stud regardless of where he plays his football in 2016 as long as he can stay healthy.

Detroit Lions WR Calvin Johnson may be offered an extension by the Lions in an effort by Detroit to bring their star wide receiver back. It was reported earlier that Johnson made the Lions aware of his intentions to retire following the 2015 season.
Fantasy Tip: Right now it doesn't look like Johnson will be in Detroit next season, but anything can happen between now and when the season starts. If Johnson's retirement is final, then Golden Tate would certainly have increased fantasy value, and the Lions would likely look to add depth to the position through free agency or the draft.

Fantasy Tip: Jones could be a breakout candidate in fantasy with a new team and would garner WR3 value in drafts.

Detroit Lions DE Ziggy Ansah is "just scratching the surface" of his potential, according to DT Haloti Ngata. "He's unbelievable," LB Darryl Tapp said. "He has so much talent, he doesn't even know it because he just started playing the game six years ago."
