Detroit Lions offensive coordinator Joe Lombardi plans to limit the team's playbook Thursday, Nov. 20. "I don't know if you would say the playbook, just the number of calls that we're going to put on the call sheet," Lombardi said. "You kind of overplan and have more offense than maybe what you need, being prepared for different situations. So it's just being a little bit more precise during the week. Maybe having a little less insecurity as a coach. Sometimes you'll go, hey, I want all these plays in case and we don't need them.

Fantasy Tip: Bush is working his way back from his ankle injury, so he could be limited if he is active for Week 12. Bush costs $5,200 on FantasyScore but probably is a risky option because of the injury.

Fantasy Tip: Bush expects to play this weekend against the New England Patriots, but the Lions have said that they don't want to rush him back. Theo Riddick ($4,700) should be a decent play if Bush doesn't suit up. It's hard to trust Bush ($5,200) at his price tag still.

Fantasy Tip: Bell ($5,400) should be fine unless he suffers a setback this week. The New England Patriots, the Lions' Week 12 opponent, have allowed just over 20 fantasy points to running backs this year, which makes Bell appealing. However, the backfield picture could be cloudy if Reggie Bush (ankle) re-enters the fold.

Detroit Lions DT Nick Fairley (knee), DE Jason Jones (non-injury) and OG Larry Warford (knee) did not practice Wednesday, Nov. 19. OT LaAdrian Waddle (knee) was limited, while TE Brandon Pettigrew (foot) practiced in full.

Fantasy Tip: Bell's injury was not specified, assuming there is even an injury. Keep tabs on his status as the week goes on. Reggie Bush and Theo Riddick will be involved even if Bell plays.

Fantasy Tip: Johnson said his elbow is fine and that there's just a cut, so he should still be able to play this weekend. He does draw a tough test with Darrelle Revis and/or Brandon Browner, however, which could make his FantasyScore price of $7,900 a little too steep.

Fantasy Tip: Tate ($6,700; 13.4% of your cap) was only targeted twice last week with Arizona Cardinals CB Patrick Peterson looming. The matchup and Megatron's return likely hurt him, and he doesn't have a great outlook this week on FantasyScore either. Johnson ($7,900; 15.8%) was targeted 12 times, but he only had a 5-59 line. His prospects are a bit higher, but one must weigh the price and the potential output.

Detroit Lions WR T.J. Jones (shoulder) will practice Wednesday, Nov. 19, for the first time this year. Jones has a 21-day window for the team to decide whether it wants to activate him or keep him out for the year. Jones underwent shoulder surgery in June.

Detroit Lions RB Reggie Bush (ankle) said he will return this week from the ankle injury that sidelined him last week. Bush said he hopes the week off will enable him to stay healthy the rest of the season.
Fantasy Tip: Bush has been a disappointment this season, but there is still a thread of hope for his value in point-per-reception leagues, even with Theo Riddick in the mix on passing downs. However, it might be best to wait and see with Bush this week to see how he fares coming off the injury.

Detroit Lions WR Golden Tate was only targeted two times during the team's Week 11 game, but head coach Jim Caldwell said that was not the plan during the game. "The plays that we call are maybe the same plays where he would have gotten the ball previously. You look at the progressions. There may be a guy in front of him and (the quarterback) may have to go somewhere else. Those are thing that happen more so than we're saying, 'You know what, we're not designing any plays to go to Golden'. That wasn't the case," Caldwell said. Tate finished the game with two catches for 41 yards.
Fantasy Tip: Tate has had a terrific season so far, but there are times when a receiver is not being thrown to during games for some reason. Tate should be still be a starting option this week but will be facing a tough New England Patriots defense.

Detroit Lions QB Matthew Stafford passes 20,000 career passing yards in Week 11, to become the faster quarterback in NFL history to reach that mark. Sunday's game was just Stafford's 71st career game. Dan Marino previously held the mark in 74 games.
Fantasy Tip: The record is great, but Stafford was just 18-for-30 for 183 yards, no touchdowns and an interception in the loss to the Arizona Cardinals. It doesn't get any easier next week as Detroit faces the New England Patriots.
