Detroit Lions RB Theo Riddick should have a solid role in the offense this upcoming season because of his ability, according to QB Dan Orlovsky. "Theo's too good to not put on the field," Orlovsky said. "Theo has stuff that you can't coach, that you can't teach, that you're born from God with. He just has an ability to get open better than everyone else." Orlovsky said he believes Riddick can have 60 catches in 2015.
Fantasy Tip: Riddick likely will not start for the Lions this season but could be a weapon in the passing game. Riddick likely will have more value in point-per-reception leagues and could be an option in late rounds in those leagues. He could also be a depth option in standard leagues.

Detroit Lions WR Lance Moore is excited to be back in the offense led by Lions offensive coordinator Joe Lombardi. "This is the offense I had the most success in in my career," said Moore. "I played in this offense for eight years and I think Joe Lombardi was there six or seven of those years that I was there," Moore said Thursday, May 28.
Fantasy Tip: Moore is likely to win one of the final two spots in the Lions' wide receiver corps. Moore shouldn't be a consideration in fantasy drafts, but he could become an option on FantasyScore, if the Lions suffer some injuries to their receiver group.

Updating a previous report, Detroit Lions RB Ameer Abdullah signed a four-year, $4.16 million rookie contract that includes $2.29 million in guaranteed money. He received a $1.28 million signing bonus. Abdullah's 2015 and 2016 salaries are fully guaranteed at $435,000 and $573,915, respectively. He will receive a $50,000 reporting bonus in 2015 and workout bonuses of $50,000 in 2017 and 2018.
Fantasy Tip: Abdullah will battle Theo Riddick for third-down work, but pass protection may be the dictating factor in his playing time. Detroit will split time among their running backs, and seeing a three-way rotation is not out of the question. Abdullah is a late-round flier in PPR leagues for now.

Updating a previous report, Detroit Lions WR Lance Moore signed a one-year contract worth $1.05 million. He will earn a base salary of $970,000 after receiving a $40,000 signing bonus. Moore will receive a $40,000 roster bonus if he makes the Lions' Week 1 roster. Earning the minimum salary benefit means Moore will count $655,000 against Detroit's 2015 salary cap.
Fantasy Tip: Moore is hardly a lock to make the team, but he could have fleeting fantasy value with the right matchups if he does land a top-three receiver spot. He's a better DFS play on FantasyScore than a traditional draft choice.

Detroit Lions RB Ameer Abdullah drew a comparison to Baltimore Ravens WR Steve Smith Wednesday, May 13, from personal trainer Otis Leverette. "He reminds me a ton of Steve Smith and you see what he's done in the league," Leverette said. "I played with him in (a college) all-star game and played with him in the league for a while, they've kind of got that same thing to them. They just don't know that they're supposed to be small, they don't believe in obstacles. The things that other people see as obstacles, they just see as another day at the office."
Fantasy Tip: Abdullah is likely to factor heavily into the Lions' run game, but he'll be the second option to Joique Bell. Abdullah is considered a good receiver, but he'll need to take care of the fumble issues that caused him problems during his career at Nebraska.
