Detroit Lions RB Reggie Bush has seen RB Joique Bell take more carries over the first two games of the season, but Bush is remaining patient as the team ranks 28th in the league in rushing yards (146) and 29th in yards per carry (3.04). Offensive coordinator Joe Lombardi is staying patient, too, as the running game was taken away in Week 2 against the Carolina Panthers when they fell behind. Lombardi said part of the plan is getting Bush more involved, and he would have had more touches against Carolina if they hadn't fallen behind. Bush has 10 fewer carries than Bell and has one more catch than Bell. Bush has just 2.7 yards per attempt on 15 carries this year, and Lombardi wants to see both totals increase. However, he also wants to make sure not to overuse Bush. The Lions envision using Bush in a designated tight end spot or close to the line as a receiver so that they can get him out in space.
Fantasy Tip: Bush will likely be overlooked by many at FantasyScore this weekend because of his limited production through two games. That is the kind of opening you may want to exploit against the Green Bay Packers, a team that should give Bush plenty of room to run and catch. He'll cost you $6,900.

Fantasy Tip: Bell is a solid choice for your FantasyScore lineup against the Green Bay Packers defense this weekend. He'll cost you $6,100 (12.2% of salary cap).

Detroit Lions LB Travis Lewis (quadriceps), CB Cassius Vaughn (ankle) and OT LaAdrian Waddle (calf) have been ruled out for Week 3 against the Green Bay Packers. S James Ihedigbo (neck) and FB Montell Owens (hamstring) are doubtful. DE Ziggy Ansah (knee), DT Nick Fairley (biceps) and DE George Johnson (groin) are questionable, while S Don Carey (hamstring) is probable. Lewis, Vaughn and Waddle didn't practice Friday, Sept. 19. Ansah, Fairley, Ihedigbo, Johnson and Owens were limited, while Carey practiced in full.

Detroit Lions QB Matthew Stafford hasn't been forcing the ball to WR Calvin Johnson, according to head coach Jim Caldwell. Caldwell said the fact that Stafford has targeted Johnson 24 times, way more than any other receiver on the team, just shows that the team wants to get the ball to their best weapons as often as possible. "I think if it hadn't been for the interception (Stafford threw Sunday), nobody would even say a word about whether or not they think that he's forcing the ball to Calvin," Caldwell continued. "And that was on a deep post pattern, and really he had exactly what we were looking for, you can see Calvin starting to run by both guys, and (Matthew) just had to get it out there a little bit more. That was the only issue."
Fantasy Tip: Johnson owners won't mind the fact that he's the most targeted receiver on the team, as expected. Johnson is the highest-priced receiver at FantasyScore this week at $8,800, but he has a great matchup against the Green Bay Packers.

Fantasy Tip: Bell is still expected to play and is priced at $6,100 on FantasyScore. He probably has more value in point-per-reception leagues in what could be a shootout against the Green Bay Packers.

Fantasy Tip: Freese likely is on a short leash since he has struggled in the first two games. Owners should be able to find a more reliable kicker to use.
