Broncos | Wes Welker's health a non-issue

Thu, 18 Sep 2014 10:32:59 -0700

Denver Broncos WR Wes Welker (concussion) practiced with the team Wednesday, Sept. 17, which was his first on-field work since Labor Day, and he said he was cleared medically "about a week or so ago." "I appreciate their concern, I do," Welker said. "But at the same time, I feel great. I feel sharp and ready to go." Head coach John Fox said that Welker's suspension, from a health perspective, may have been a "blessing in disguise" for Welker.

Fantasy Tip: Welker's health is great news. He probably won't be overworked in his first game back against the Seattle Seahawks, though, especially since the team has their bye in Week 4. He won't be eligible to play in your lineup at FantasyScore this weekend, either.

Broncos | Brandon McManus limited

Wed, 17 Sep 2014 15:11:15 -0700

Denver Broncos PK Brandon McManus (groin) was limited in practice Wednesday, Sept. 17.

Fantasy Tip: McManus should be expected to play against the Seattle Seahawks. If you're not afraid to spend on a kicker at FantasyScore, McManus ($3,600; 7.2% of cap) could be a fine play.

S David Bruton (shoulder) and OG Ben Garland (ankle) were limited, while S Quinton Carter (knee), OT Ryan Clady (foot), CB Chris Harris Jr. (knee) and LB Von Miller (groin) practiced in full.

Broncos | Wes Welker not committing to Week 3

Wed, 17 Sep 2014 14:06:08 -0700

Denver Broncos WR Wes Welker feels great physically and is ready to return to the team, but he stopped short of committing to playing in Week 3 against the Seattle Seahawks. "That's a coach's decision," Welker said. " ... I'm preparing like I'm going to play." Welker was back on the practice field Wednesday, Sept. 17.

Fantasy Tip: Welker has been physically cleared and is going through the game plan with the team this week, so we'd expect him to suit up against the Seahawks. You won't have to worry about Welker at FantasyScore this week, since he's not eligible, but plan to return him to your standard lineups if he's active.

Broncos | Wes Welker to return to slot

Wed, 17 Sep 2014 13:31:24 -0700

Denver Broncos WR Wes Welker will return to the slot receiver position in Week 3 against the Seattle Seahawks, moving WR Emmanuel Sanders back outside opposite WR Demaryius Thomas. WR Andre Caldwell will return to the No. 4 receiver role.

Fantasy Tip: Unfortunately, Welker won't be available at FantasyScore this week, but he should be returned immediately to all standard lineups against the Seahawks.

Broncos | Wes Welker reinstated

Wed, 17 Sep 2014 07:46:07 -0700

Denver Broncos WR Wes Welker has been reinstated Wednesday, Sept. 17, after a new drug testing agreement was reached.

Fantasy Tip: As mentioned previously, Welker is not guaranteed to play in Week 3. He is priced at $3,700 (7.4% of your cap) on FantasyScore against the Seattle Seahawks. He's a cheap gamble to take this week, but it's a very poor matchup.

Broncos | Chris Harris plays more snaps

Mon, 15 Sep 2014 15:55:42 -0700

Denver Broncos CB Chris Harris Jr. played 81 of 86 defensive snaps in Week 2 against the Kansas City Chiefs after playing in only 39 snaps in Week 1. It's a sign that he's making good progress after knee surgery.

Broncos | Wes Welker to be reinstated

Mon, 15 Sep 2014 14:03:12 -0700

Denver Broncos WR Wes Welker will officially be reinstated following the agreement of a new drug policy.

Fantasy Tip: Welker should be good to go in Week 3 against the Seattle Seahawks. He's a low-end WR2 option, but there's always the injury/concussion risk.

Broncos | Emmanuel Sanders reaches century mark

Mon, 15 Sep 2014 09:39:29 -0700

Denver Broncos WR Emmanuel Sanders led the team with eight catches for 108 yards in Week 2 against the Kansas City Chiefs. It was the first 100-yard game of his career.

Fantasy Tip: Sanders has been a fine fantasy option in the first two weeks despite not reaching the end zone. His usage in the offense could take a hit, though, if Wes Welker returns in Week 3 against the Seattle Seahawks.

Sun, 14 Sep 2014 12:18:59 -0700

Broncos | Demaryius Thomas vows to fix drops

Sat, 13 Sep 2014 19:16:06 -0700

Denver Broncos WR Demaryius Thomas dropped three passes in the team's Week 1 game, but he says the rough outing is behind him, and he expects to fix the problem. "My main thing was trying to get the ball up the field too fast," Thomas said. "So, this week has been mainly watch the ball in before I make the move."

Fantasy Tip: Thomas had just four catches for 48 yards in Week 1, but he left a lot of yardage on the table because of the drops. Meanwhile, he was targeted a team-high 11 times so the poor performance was likely a one-game occurrence. Thomas is the highest-priced receiver in FantasyScore at $8,000 (16% of cap) in Week 2, but he could live up to his price tag against a Kansas City defense that he torched for 227 yards in two meetings last year.

Broncos | Wes Welker out for Week 2

Sat, 13 Sep 2014 13:17:35 -0700

Denver Broncos WR Wes Welker is not on the 53-man roster Saturday, Sept. 13, and will not play Sunday, Sept. 14, in Week 2.

Fantasy Tip: He should be owned and could be a solid start in Week 3.

Broncos | Wes Welker unlikely in Week 2

Fri, 12 Sep 2014 19:26:15 -0700

Updating a previous report, Denver Broncos WR Wes Welker is unlikely to play in Week 2 against the Kansas City Chiefs, as he has not gone through a full practice since Aug. 19.

Fantasy Tip: FantasyScore owners will want to avoid Welker in the upcoming week, even if he is able to suit up and play. Let him knock the rust off before relying upon him for one of your lineup spots.
