Broncos | Demaryius Thomas feels better than ever

Thu, 25 May 2017 14:29:32 -0700

Denver Broncos WR Demaryius Thomas said he's feeling the best he's felt in his entire career.

Fantasy Tip: Thomas hasn't missed a game in five straight seasons despite dealing with a fair share of bumps and bruises. Thomas's numbers were gaudy with Peyton Manning, but he still managed to record a season of 90 catches, 1000-plus yards and five touchdowns last year without Manning. As such, he sits comfortably in high-end WR2 territory.

Broncos | Brandon McManus looking for long-term deal

Wed, 24 May 2017 13:25:11 -0700

Denver Broncos restricted free-agent PK Brandon McManus has not signed his tender offer at this point because he is hoping to receive a long-term contract this offseason. He has been participating in offseason workouts.

Fantasy Tip: McManus made 85.3 percent of the field goals this past season, which ranked 14th in the NFL. He plays for a solid offensive team but may only be a bye week option for owners in 2017.

Broncos | Jamaal Charles ready by training camp?

Tue, 23 May 2017 13:34:57 -0700

Denver Broncos RB Jamaal Charles (knee) hopes to be ready for action by training camp, according to head coach Vance Joseph. Charles will rehabilitate and get back to good health during organized team activities.

Fantasy Tip: Charles will be part of a committee in Denver, primarily with C.J. Anderson, and should be on the field mostly in passing situations and on third downs. Health is a huge risk in Charles' case and he can't be drafted as more than a flex in PPR formats.

Broncos | Trevor Siemian works with first team

Tue, 23 May 2017 11:06:33 -0700

Denver Broncos QB Trevor Siemian worked with the first-team offense on the first day of organized team activities Tuesday, May 23.

Fantasy Tip: Not a surprise, but second-year quarterback Paxton Lynch isn't too far behind. Lynch could be breathing down Siemian's neck all offseason, so keep an eye on this battle. For now, Siemian is only a bye-week replacement at best.

Broncos | Denver plans on using RB committee in '17

Mon, 22 May 2017 21:36:51 -0700

Denver Broncos head coach Vance Joseph is planning on using a running-back-by-committee system in the upcoming season. "You need two or three guys that can carry the load," Joseph said. "It is no longer a one-guy position. I'm excited to have Jamaal (Charles), C.J. (Anderson), (Devontae Booker), even De'Angelo (Henderson) in the mix there. It's a good group. It's going to be competitive, and that's the way it should be."

Fantasy Tip: Anderson figures to lead the way throughout the campaign, but it looks like he may not get as much work as his fantasy owners will desire, especially since he's coming back from a significant injury. With Charles and Booker also in town, it looks like this will be a tricky situation to deal with in 2017.

Broncos | Trevor Siemian still the favorite to start?

Sun, 21 May 2017 12:51:23 -0700

Denver Broncos QB Trevor Siemian had little trouble holding off 2016 first-round pick Paxton Lynch last season, and 9News' Mike Klis would be "surprised" if the quarterback competition plays out the same way this season.

Fantasy Tip: Siemian performed better than expected in his first season as the starter, especially considering he was dealing with a shoulder injury that required offseason surgery for a good part of it. Lynch is said to be much further along than he was as a rookie, and new head coach Vance Joseph has said the quarterback competition is one he hopes go down to the wire. Siemian should be considered the favorite for now, but he figures to be on a fairly short leash.

Broncos | Jamaal Charles not a lock for roster

Thu, 18 May 2017 18:09:44 -0700

Denver Broncos RB Jamaal Charles has a 50 percent chance to make the 53-man roster, according to beat writer Mike Klis.

Fantasy Tip: If Charles can prove he is healthy during camp, he should land a spot in the running back rotation. Even in that scenario, he is only worth taking a chance on in the later rounds.

Broncos | Decision-making big for Denver quarterbacks

Thu, 18 May 2017 11:36:11 -0700

Denver Broncos QBs Trevor Siemian and Paxton Lynch will need to make good decisions in order to win the starting position, according to head coach Vance Joseph. "The guy who makes great decisions with the football, not turning the ball over, and the guy who lets his teammates play for him, that's the guy I want to lead our football team," Joseph said. "[Decisions-making] is the biggest factor in this decision I'm going to make."

Fantasy Tip: Overall, Siemian made mostly productive decisions in his first season as starter last year. Lynch may be more prone to turnovers since he is just in his second season, but he's still in a good position to win the starting gig. As has been said previously, though, neither one of these guys deserves the starting nod for fantasy purposes except for as a bye-week replacement.

Broncos | Carlos Henderson may be kick returner

Wed, 17 May 2017 12:48:40 -0700

Denver Broncos WR Carlos Henderson is expected to receive the first opportunity to win the kick returner job, in the opinion of ESPN.com's Jeff Legwold. Henderson could also receive a role in the offense as a rookie.
