Broncos | Devontae Booker more prepared in 2017

Wed, 19 Jul 2017 09:03:36 -0700

Denver Broncos RB Devontae Booker had at least 18 carries in four of the first five games following C.J. Anderson's season-ending knee injury in late October. In those four games, he averaged 2.8, 3.2, 3.3 and 1.9 yards per carry. "I think everybody's fatigued (late in the season). As a pro, you have to push through it. That's part of it ... But I feel more ready this time," Booker said.

Fantasy Tip: To be fair, Booker was less than a year removed from two knee surgeries and head coach Gary Kubiak's outside-zone running system may have not been the best fit for him. New offensive coordinator Mike McCoy intends to include more power-based concepts in his offense, the offensive line should be improved and Booker has pronounced himself fully healthy, so he should perform better in 2017. Consider him a RB5 with fairly significant upside on draft day.

Broncos | Denver getting closer to deal with John Elway

Sun, 16 Jul 2017 06:20:52 -0700

The Denver Broncos and executive vice president/general manager John Elway are continuing to negotiate a long-term agreement that could be privately finalized this week and announced shortly before training camp opens, according to Woody Paige of the Colorado Springs Gazette. The deal could pay Elway $30 million to $35 million over the course of five years, which would make him the NFL's highest-paid executive. In addition, Elway could receive the title of chief operating officer.

Broncos | Emmanuel Sanders has QB timetable

Wed, 12 Jul 2017 17:40:33 -0700

Denver Broncos WR Emmanuel Sanders said he would like to know the team's starting quarterback now if he was up to him but understands that the coaching staff will make the decision when they are ready. Sanders said it would be easier to build chemistry with the starting quarterback if he were able to practice with him all of the time.

Fantasy Tip: Sanders should be productive no matter the quarterback because he has posted at least 1,000 yards in each of the last three seasons. He should be a solid No. 3 fantasy receiver in 2017 as long as he stays healthy.

Broncos | Emmanuel Sanders feels energized

Tue, 11 Jul 2017 13:46:50 -0700

Denver Broncos WR Emmanuel Sanders has made some changes this offseason, including his diet. Sanders admitted that he was eating poorly but has been listening to his body more and physically feels like a rookie again.

Fantasy Tip: Sanders is going for a fourth straight season of at least 1,000 yards and five touchdowns. Those are attainable numbers in 201, especially with offensive coordinator Mike McCoy back in Denver. Sanders is worthy of WR3 consideration despite subpar quarterback play.

Broncos | Denver QBs will attend passing camp

Tue, 11 Jul 2017 11:10:28 -0700

Denver Broncos QBs Trevor Siemian, Paxton Lynch and others will attend a passing camp in Los Angeles prior to the start of training camp. Head coach Vance Joseph has reiterated that Siemian and Lynch are in the midst of a heated battle for the starting job.

Fantasy Tip: Whoever wins the job will assuredly deserve it, but they won't deserve a starting job on any fantasy rosters, aside from two-quarterback leagues. Even then, they should only be started in good matchups.

Broncos | Emmanuel Sanders happy with either QB

Mon, 10 Jul 2017 16:23:32 -0700

Denver Broncos WR Emmanuel Sanders said he believes he can produce with either QB Trevor Siemian or QB Paxton Lynch as the starter because they throw catchable passes. "Both of those guys throw catchable passes," Sanders said. "When it comes to the deep ball, Paxton loves to throw the deep ball. Big, strong arm. Trevor, he loves to throw the out routes, the in-routes. He's a checkdown, all-around type guy."

Fantasy Tip: Sanders posted 1,032 yards with Siemian and Lynch last season and should be able to post similar numbers again in 2017 no matter which quarterback starts. He was posted at least 1,000 yards in each of the last three seasons and can be a low-end No. 2 or a No. 3 receiver in fantasy leagues.

Broncos | Demaryius Thomas' hip pain is gone

Mon, 10 Jul 2017 07:52:31 -0700

Denver Broncos WR Demaryius Thomas (hip) said the pain in his hip that bothered him last season is gone.

Fantasy Tip: DT has been declining each of the last three years, and he turns 30 late in the season. There's no reason to believe he'll return to the WR1 area after combining for 11 touchdowns the last two years, but he's a solid WR2 in fantasy.

Broncos | Demaryius Thomas still going strong

Sun, 09 Jul 2017 18:30:23 -0700

Denver Broncos WR Demaryius Thomas is one of three players in NFL history with five or more consecutive seasons with at least 90 receptions and at least 1,000 yards, and he said he thinks he still has a couple of good years left.

Fantasy Tip: Thomas was able to put up solid numbers again last year despite a less-than-ideal quarterback situation, and he is a borderline WR1 with a high floor.
