Cowboys | Dak Prescott has ankle injury

Mon, 18 Sep 2017 14:58:56 -0700

Dallas Cowboys QB Dak Prescott (ankle) suffered an ankle injury in the Cowboys' Week 2 loss to the Denver Broncos, according to head coach Jason Garrett.

Fantasy Tip: Despite the ankle ailment, Prescott put together a solid game even in a blowout loss. The injury doesn't sound serious enough to threaten any game time, but monitor Prescott's status throughout the week to be certain.

Cowboys | Ezekiel Elliott stay request denied

Mon, 18 Sep 2017 10:26:49 -0700

Updating an ongoing story, Dallas Cowboys RB Ezekiel Elliott's suspension remains on hold after the NFL's request for a stay in the case was denied Monday, Sept. 18.

Fantasy Tip: Elliott is expected to play against the Arizona Cardinals in Week 3, and he's coming off a rough game. It's a tough matchup, but he remains a high-end RB1 option.

Cowboys | Terrance Williams doesn't do much

Sun, 17 Sep 2017 20:48:01 -0700

Dallas Cowboys WR Terrance Williams hauled in four balls in Week 2 against the Broncos, but he managed just 17 yards on his five targets.

Fantasy Tip: Williams led the way in Week 1 against the Giants, but his statistics reflected his status on the depth chart better in this one. He is the fourth option in the pass game behind Dez Bryant, Cole Beasley and Jason Witten, and perhaps even fifth behind Ezekiel Elliott. The Cowboys meet the Cardinals in Week 3 on Monday night. Williams is nothing more than a WR5 at this point in most fantasy formats.

Cowboys | Cole Beasley finishes with four grabs

Sun, 17 Sep 2017 20:47:23 -0700

Dallas Cowboys WR Cole Beasley racked up four receptions for 33 yards on eight targets in Week 2 against the Denver Broncos.

Fantasy Tip: Beasley is a solid slot receiver and nice WR3/4 in PPR fantasy formats, although the Dallas pass game was mostly shut down early on. Beasley will look for better results in Week 3 against the Cardinals on the road Monday night.

Cowboys | Dez Bryant gets into the end zone

Sun, 17 Sep 2017 20:46:53 -0700

Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant racked up seven receptions for 59 yards and a touchdown in Week 2 against the Broncos and he was targeted a game-high 16 times.

Fantasy Tip: Dak Prescott tried to find Bryant frequently, but Aqib Talib and the Denver secondary did a fairly decent job of keeping Bryant from making a difference when the game was still close. He'll look to find the end zone again in Week 3 at Arizona on Monday Night Football.

Cowboys | Jason Witten shines in lopsided loss

Sun, 17 Sep 2017 20:45:50 -0700

Dallas Cowboys TE Jason Witten posted game highs with 10 catches and 97 yards in Week 2 at Denver and he scored a touchdown with 13 targets.

Fantasy Tip: Dak Prescott was looking Witten's way early and often, as the tight end benefited from a lopsided score in the second half with a heavy workload and no runs. He is off to a great start for fantasy owners through two games. He'll try to keep it rolling in Week 3 at Arizona on Monday Night Football.

Cowboys | Ezekiel Elliott stuck in neutral

Sun, 17 Sep 2017 20:45:21 -0700

Dallas Cowboys RB Ezekiel Elliott ran nine times for just eight yards in Week 2 against the Denver Broncos and he added four receptions for 14 yards on five targets.

Fantasy Tip: Elliott was bottled up by the sturdy Denver defense, with his longest run going for just five yards. He'll try to get on track in Week 3 in Arizona under the lights on Monday night.

Cowboys | Dak Prescott makes pair of miscues

Sun, 17 Sep 2017 20:44:47 -0700

Dallas Cowboys QB Dak Prescott completed 30 of his 50 pass attempts for 238 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions in the Week 2 game against the Broncos. He also rushed three times for a team-high 24 yards.

Fantasy Tip: The fact Prescott led the team in rushing tells you a little bit about how things went on this day, even if you didn't know the overall result. It was a grind against the stout Denver D. The Cowboys will look for better results in Week 3 in Arizona on Monday Night Football.

Cowboys | Terrance Williams officially active

Sun, 17 Sep 2017 12:46:38 -0700

Dallas Cowboys WR Terrance Williams (ankle) is officially active for the team's Week 2 game.

Fantasy Tip: Williams will be one of the starting receivers for the Cowboys but is facing a tough Denver Broncos defense. Owners probably should bench Williams this week if they have better options to use.

Cowboys | Terrance Williams expected to play

Sun, 17 Sep 2017 06:09:14 -0700

Dallas Cowboys WR Terrance Williams (ankle) is expected to play in Week 2's game against the Denver Broncos.

Fantasy Tip: Williams was listed as questionable on the injury report but was only able to log a limited practice session Friday, Sept. 15, after spending part of the week in a walking boot. Although he had six receptions for 68 yards against the New York Giants in Week 1, he has a challenging matchup versus Denver, so it's probably best to avoid using him this week.

Cowboys | Ezekiel Elliott chasing record

Sat, 16 Sep 2017 19:00:17 -0700

Dallas Cowboys RB Ezekiel Elliott can set an NFL record against the Denver Broncos in Week 2 by rushing for at least 80 yards in his 16th straight game.

Fantasy Tip: Elliott has as much upside as any back in the league, but fantasy owners can certainly appreciate the consistency, as well. Pencil him in for another week of RB1 production against the Broncos.
