Browns | Ricardo Louis primed for bigger role

Tue, 19 Sep 2017 10:07:49 -0700

Cleveland Browns WR Ricardo Louis "figures to move in the pecking order" following the Week 2 injury to Corey Coleman, according to ESPN's Pat McManamon, who adds he expects Rashard Higgins to remain the team's slot receiver.

Fantasy Tip: Higgins led all Cleveland receivers in Week 2 with 54 snaps - Louis had 32 - so it would seem the former will play a more important role moving forward regardless of whether or not McManamon is suggesting Louis could start opposite Kenny Britt. As his seven-catch, 95-yard effort in Week 2 will attest, Higgins is the superior add in fantasy leagues this week.

Browns | Rashard Higgins now a starter?

Tue, 19 Sep 2017 09:45:04 -0700

Cleveland Browns WR Rashard Higgins was listed as a starter on the team' Week 3 unofficial depth chart Tuesday, Sept. 19.

Fantasy Tip: Higgins was let go at final cuts and promoted last weekend just hours before erupting for 95 yards on seven catches against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 2, so there is some chance he proves to be a one-hit wonder this season. With that said, the Browns are lacking playmakers with Corey Coleman hurt and don't have the luxury of allowing that to happen. As such, Higgins is very much worth a speculative add in fantasy leagues this week.

Browns | Corey Coleman likely to be placed on IR

Mon, 18 Sep 2017 17:23:58 -0700

Updating previous reports, Cleveland Browns WR Corey Coleman (hand) underwent surgery Monday, Sept. 18, to repair the fractured bone in his hand and likely will be placed on the Reserve/Injured list Tuesday, Sept. 19. Coleman will be eligible of come off the Reserve/Injured list after eight weeks if he is healed.

Fantasy Tip: Coleman dealt with a broken hand last season and missed six weeks, so he will miss a significant amount of the season even if he is not placed on the Reserve/Injured list. Owners in most leagues can drop him if they need to add another player off the waiver wire. Rashard Higgins should receive a bigger role in the offense and could be a flex option in some deeper leagues.

Browns | Corey Coleman will miss multiple months

Mon, 18 Sep 2017 11:58:19 -0700

Cleveland Browns WR Corey Coleman (hand) is expected to miss six to eight months with his broken hand. He is a candidate to be placed on the Reserve/Injured list, but he would be able to return this season.

Browns | Corey Coleman will have surgery

Mon, 18 Sep 2017 11:38:50 -0700

Updating a previous report, Cleveland Browns WR Corey Coleman (hand) will undergo surgery on his broken hand, according to a source. Coleman's right hand is the same on he broke last season that caused him to miss six games. That injury did not require surgery, however. A timetable for his recovery was not disclosed.

Fantasy Tip: Rashard Higgins quickly took over as the Browns' top receiving threat in Week 2 with Coleman sidelined. Kenny Britt appears to be an afterthought in the passing game, so make Higgins a waiver wire priority heading into Week 3.

Browns | Corey Coleman has broken hand

Mon, 18 Sep 2017 09:19:46 -0700

Updating an earlier report, Cleveland Browns WR Corey Coleman (hand) has a broken hand, according to a source.

Fantasy Tip: That's probably a four-to-six-week situation at least. Coleman can be dropped in non-dynasty formats. Sammie Coates didn't catch any of his four targets, but he may be seeing more come his way in the near term. He's worth a speculative waiver claim.

Browns | Corey Coleman may have broken hand

Mon, 18 Sep 2017 07:20:05 -0700

Cleveland Browns WR Corey Coleman (hand) is feared to have suffered a broken hand, according to a source. He'll undergo tests Monday, Sept. 18.

Fantasy Tip: Coleman is a speculative WR5 and a broken hand would make him worth dropping except in dynasty formats.

Browns | Sammie Coates targeted four times

Sun, 17 Sep 2017 16:49:52 -0700

Cleveland Browns WR Sammie Coates was targeted four times in Week 2 at Baltimore but he was held without a catch.

Fantasy Tip: The former Steelers speed burner has the potential to make a splash in the Cleveland offense, as there is plenty of opportunity with a hodgepodge at the position. But for now, Coates is only worth monitoring heading into Week 3 at Indianapolis.

Browns | Corey Coleman held in check

Sun, 17 Sep 2017 16:49:23 -0700

Cleveland Browns WR Corey Coleman was targeted seven times in Week 2 at Baltimore but he was able to haul in just one ball for nine yards.

Fantasy Tip: Coleman has speed to burn, and he obviously has the eye of rookie QB DeShone Kizer before everyone else. But so far it has been a slow go for the offense. They'll look to break out in Week 3 at Indianapolis and Coleman could be a nice fantasy sleeper as a result.

Browns | Kenny Britt doesn't do much in Week 2

Sun, 17 Sep 2017 16:48:55 -0700

Cleveland Browns WR Kenny Britt posted just one catch for two yards on two targets in Week 2 at Baltimore.

Fantasy Tip: Britt made his way back from a knee injury and he was expected to see his normal allotment in the offense. Right now he is an afterthought in the Cleveland offense and not worth using in most fantasy leagues.

Browns | David Njoku finds the end zone

Sun, 17 Sep 2017 16:48:06 -0700

Cleveland Browns rookie TE David Njoku hauled in three receptions for 27 yards and a touchdown in Week 2 on the road against the Ravens.

Fantasy Tip: Njoku has shown a little promise so far in the early going, posting five grabs for 47 yards and a touchdown through two outings. He has a lot of upside, but right now he is simply a player worth just monitoring in most fantasy leagues at this time.

Browns | Seth DeValve totals 61 yards

Sun, 17 Sep 2017 16:47:33 -0700

Cleveland Browns TE Seth DeValve posted two receptions for 61 yards on four targets in Week 2 at Baltimore.

Fantasy Tip: DeValve shook free for the team's longest offensive play, a 49-yard catch and scamper. However, he is still not the Cleveland tight end to target for fantasy purposes. Rookie David Njoku has far more fantasy appeal and upside.

Browns | Rashard Higgins finishes with 95 yards

Sun, 17 Sep 2017 16:47:04 -0700

Cleveland Browns WR Rashard Higgins finished with seven receptions for 95 yards on 11 targets in Week 2 at Baltimore.

Fantasy Tip: Higgins was given an opportunity and he took full advantage. Could he be this season's Terrelle Pryor, coming out of nowhere and emerging as a fantasy regular on the Cleveland roster? No other Browns receiver seems to have stepped up so far. Monitor Higgins in Week 3 at Indianapolis.
