Browns | DeShone Kizer could start Week 1

Sun, 25 Jun 2017 13:06:06 -0700

Cleveland Browns QB DeShone Kizer has a chance to be the Week 1 starter if he can perform well during training camp practices and preseason games, in the opinion of The Cleveland Plain Dealer's Mary Kay Cabot.

Fantasy Tip: Owners will need to monitor the situation to see if Kizer moves up to the top of the depth chart. Kizer should start some games this season even if he does not win the job out of camp. Owners in standard leagues should avoid whoever is the starting quarterback for the Browns this season, but Kizer should have value in keeper leagues if he is the starter.

Browns | Jabrill Peppers not signed yet

Sun, 25 Jun 2017 13:05:24 -0700

Cleveland Browns first-round draft choice S Jabrill Peppers has not signed his contract at this point, and the offset language probably is the main reason for the lack of a deal, in the opinion of The Cleveland Plain Dealer's Mary Kay Cabot.

Browns | Seth DeValve poised to break out?

Fri, 23 Jun 2017 12:35:56 -0700

Cleveland Browns TE Seth DeValve may be the team's most improved player after becoming noticeably bigger, faster and stronger this offseason, according to the Akron Beacon Journal's Nate Ulrich.

Fantasy Tip: DeValve was reportedly putting on "clinics" during OTAs. Ulrich writes the second-year Princeton product could become a go-to option in part because the receiving corps has done little to inspire confidence this offseason. While rookie David Njoku is obviously a better long-term investment, DeValve should be the better option at tight end investment this season and possesses TE2 upside. Consider him with a late-round pick on draft day.

Browns | Ricardo Louis could be No. 3 WR

Sun, 18 Jun 2017 13:24:11 -0700

Cleveland Browns WR Ricardo Louis appears to be one of the leading candidates for the No. 3 receiver job this season because of his versatility and run after the catch ability, in the opinion of The Cleveland Plain Dealer's Dan Labbe.

Browns | Corey Coleman to be eased back

Sun, 18 Jun 2017 11:27:45 -0700

Cleveland Browns WR Corey Coleman (shoulder, hamstring) hurt his shoulder and hamstring on an awkward fall in OTAs, and the team is expected to "err on the side of caution" early in training camp.

Fantasy Tip: Coleman has gotten off to a bit of a rough start in his NFL career in terms of injuries. The second-year wideout will be counted on to be the Browns' top receiver this season, so the team would be wise to make sure he is completely healthy before pushing him hard in camp. Coleman has WR3 upside, but many owners may be able to get him on the cheap this summer considering his injury history and current quarterback situation.

Browns | Expectations high for Duke Johnson

Sat, 17 Jun 2017 19:10:18 -0700

Cleveland Browns RB Duke Johnson is one of the "better playmakers" for the offense and "big things" are expected from him this season, according to running backs coach Kirby Wilson.

Fantasy Tip: Isaiah Crowell will handle most of the work on early downs, but Johnson's ability to catch the ball out of the backfield makes him a RB4 candidate in PPR formats.

Browns | Isaiah Crowell just entering his prime

Sat, 17 Jun 2017 18:44:30 -0700

Cleveland Browns RB Isaiah Crowell has only "scratched the surface" of his potential, according to running backs coach Kirby Wilson.

Fantasy Tip: Crowell flirted with 1,000 yards last year and scored eight times, and after the Browns upgraded their offensive line in the offseason, he could improve across the board. Consider him a quality flex option with RB2 potential.
