Oregon QB Marcus Mariota could be pursued by the Cleveland Browns, according to general manager Ray Farmer. Farmer said it is possible that the Browns could package their No. 12 and No. 19 overall picks to trade up for Mariota. "We think we know who he is, we think we know what he's capable of, we think we know where he would fit for us assuming that he was with us," Farmer said.
Fantasy Tip: The Browns and Mariota rumors will likely gain steam as the NFL Draft approaches in just one week. Mariota wouldn't have the best supporting cast around him, but he does have dual threat ability. Still, he shouldn’t be considered more than a backup fantasy quarterback.

Cleveland Browns QB Johnny Manziel still has the backing of his teammates despite a tumultuous first year in the NFL. "I think he's got his mind right, and he's just ready to get ready to get going," CB Joe Haden said. Manziel has garnered respect for his decision to rehabilitate this offseason. He has publicly apologized for his off-field issues and said he's working to become the best possible player, teammate and man he can be.

Oregon QB Marcus Mariota is receiving the most attention from the Cleveland Browns, who are the front runners to land him, sources have led DraftInsider.net's Tony Pauline to believe. Last week, the Tennessee Titans' asking price for the No. 2 pick in the first round was the Browns' two first-round picks and a second-rounder. The Browns rejected the offer. The Browns may be willing to part with the first-rounders but want to keep the second-round pick to draft a receiver.
Fantasy Tip: Mariota would be a low-end QB2 in fantasy regardless of where he lands.

Cleveland Browns WR Josh Gordon's latest suspension came as a surprise to his teammates, as they didn't know he couldn't drink alcohol, according to CB Joe Haden, Tuesday, April 21. "Everybody's 21. We're going to Vegas on a vacation. We know he can't do certain things, but we had no idea he couldn't have a drink. If I knew he couldn't have a drink, everybody would have tried to – it wouldn't have been that. But Josh Gordon is a grown man and sometimes you have to know what decisions you make, but nobody was aware that he couldn't drink," Haden said. Gordon is suspended for a minimum of one full season.

Cleveland Browns QB Johnny Manziel is still a part of the Browns' future, according to head coach Mike Pettine. "He's very much in our plans… He's got to get himself right as a person before we worry [about the rest]," Pettine said.

Fantasy Tip: Manziel likely will be given the chance to compete for the starting quarterback job during workouts and training camp. Owners should consider Manziel a No. 2 fantasy quarterback next season if he is the starter.
