Cincinnati Bengals impending free-agent RB Rex Burkhead probably will not re-sign with the Cincinnati Bengals unless he receives a bigger role in the offense, in the opinion of ESPN.com's Katherine Terrell.
Fantasy Tip: Burkhead finished the 2016 season with 119 rushing yards and two touchdowns in Week 17. He probably will receive interest from teams looking for a No. 2 running back in free agency and his fantasy value will depend on his team. He probably should be considered a No. 4 or No. 5 running back depending on his role.

Cincinnati Bengals OT Andrew Whitworth is poised to test the free agent market "unless blown away by a massive contract offer" from team management. "At this point in my career it's about the challenge, the excitement of trying to win that Super Bowl," Whitworth said. "I want to make sure wherever it is, and hopefully it's in Cincinnati, that team is prepared to try and fight for that trophy." Whitworth has never been part of a playoff victory in 12 NFL seasons.

Cincinnati Bengals RB Giovani Bernard (knee) is making solid progress in his recovery from a torn anterior cruciate ligament and could avoid landing on the PUP list, according to Geoff Hobson of Bengals.com. However, Hobson believes there is still a possibility that he could miss the first game or two of the 2017 regular season.
Fantasy Tip: With RBs Cedric Peerman and Rex Burkhead set to become free agents, Jeremy Hill could open the 2017 campaign as the starting running back in Cincinnati, although the Bengals could target someone during the early rounds of the draft. In the event that Bernard is available for the season opener, Hill is still worthy of consideration as a flex option in many fantasy formats because the team is likely to use him as a goal-line specialist.

Cincinnati Bengals QB AJ McCarron is a better trade target than New England Patriots QB Jimmy Garoppolo, according to one NFL executive. "If I had to choose one, I would go after McCarron," the executive said. "Ideally, you get him for a late second- or early third-round pick.
